The Taichung municipal government held its second Economic Development Advisory Committee on the 4th, focusing on the topic of "new agriculture" and inviting a number of experts and scholars from the industry, government, university and research circles to attend. Mayor Lin Jialong said that in response to the central government's new agricultural policy, the city government has trained more than 100 young farmers and subsidized farmers to purchase modern agricultural machinery and tools, and promoted agricultural fund loans. Through the Flower Expo, we will continue to take stock of all kinds of flowers, agricultural products, pavilions, and land, and build a production and sales base of Taiwan's agricultural products in central China during the "Post-Flower Expo" period.

Mayor Lin Jialong said that in order to promote the inheritance of agricultural innovation, Taichung cooperated with the central government's new agricultural policy and put forward a "new five rural policies" in the form of innovation, employment, distribution, and sustainability. We will promote the five major directions of "farmers", "agriculture", "rural", "agricultural products" and "processed agricultural products".

In addition, Mayor Lin Jialong also pointed out that Taichung litchi has a large output, and in order to assist farmers in marketing, Taichung litchi is focused on export. last year, Zhuo Yongcai, chairman of Shanghai Bank Science and Technology, together with the team of ZTE University, developed "color preservation and water loss prevention technology." the shelf life of litchi can be extended by up to 30 days, and the competitiveness of export logistics can be enhanced. The municipal government will also hold a press conference on the export of litchi to Japan in the near future, hoping to successfully enter the Japanese market of Taichung litchi.

Chen Jizhong, vice chairman of the Council of Agriculture, affirmed that the city government had responded to the spirit of the new agriculture by not only promoting the agricultural insurance policy and mitigating the impact of natural disasters on farmers' livelihoods, but also promoting the "use of local ingredients for school lunches" and "land-based green environment payments". In order to protect farmers' rights and interests, the Council of Agriculture will promote "farmers' occupational disaster insurance" and plan to launch a "farmers' retirement system" next year, which will make reference to the successful experience of Taichung and further promote the whole country.
