Li Jinyong, head of Yunlin County, presided over the Great Beigang Development Conference at the Beigang Town Library yesterday (11). Also present at the meeting were Zhou Jiansen, Deputy Director of the Fifth River Bureau of the Water Resources Department of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Ding Yanzhe, Deputy County Mayor, Cai Yeru, County Councillor, Xu Hongbo, Director of Water Conservancy, Huang Kaida, Director of works, Lin Changzao, Director of Urban and Rural areas, Lin Mengyi, Director of Culture, Zhang Kaijie, Director of Information, Zeng Yuanhuang, Director of Planning, Zhang Shengzhi, Mayor of Beigang Town, representatives of the people of Peigang Town and local people. After the meeting, Li Jinyong, the county magistrate, led the ruling team to inspect the Beigang Bridge, the old registration office and the Dafu Theater.

A total of five projects of the Greater Beigang Development Conference were briefed by the principal and responsible units, namely, Wuhe Bureau ─ "Environmental Construction Project of Beigang River Section", ─ "Beigang area implementation Plan" of Water Conservancy Department, ─ "Integration and improvement Plan of Street system around Chaotian Palace" of works Department, ─ "Development Plan of Beigang Cultural and Life Park" of Urban and Rural Department, and "Centennial Historical Reconstruction Plan of Beigang Art Town, Yunlin County" by Culture Office ─.

County magistrate Li Jinyong said that Beigang has many tangible and intangible cultural assets based on Mazu culture. The Ministry of Culture plans to select the town of Beigang as the implementation place of "Centennial Art Town," with Chaotian Palace as the core. For the improvement of road traffic around it, the county government has also been approved by the central government to improve the street system integration and improvement plan. As for the urgent need for additional local activity space, the county government also constructs a continuous moving line and improves the livable environment, and provides townspeople with outdoor parent-child activities and leisure, and strengthens the functions of public space such as outdoor sports. It is expected to become a modern multi-functional gathering and leisure place for residents in the future.
