Taichung MRT Green Line Electric Union car self-driving provides intelligent and safe transportation
The Taichung MRT Green Line will start trial operation this year. In the current intensive test of self-driving electric cars on various sections of the line, the future will be Taiwan's second MRT with self-driving self-driving trains after the Taipei MRT Wenhu Line. Wang Yichuan, director of transportation in Taichung City, said that the MRT Green Line adopts the most advanced communication train control technology (CBTC) for rail transport, which allows the electric car to travel and stop according to the scheduled schedule by means of wireless communication, and uses the track beacon automatic positioning coordinate system to control the electric car in the mobile block area, maintain the safe driving distance, form a mobile protection network, and through intelligent control and management. It can also shorten the departure distance and provide safer and more convenient rail transport services to the public.
Wang Yichuan, director of transportation, said that the main equipment of the communicative train control technology (CBTC) is composed of an automatic train control system, an automatic train monitoring system, a computer interlocking system and a data communication system. During the autopilot of Taichung MRT Green Line, the train information and instructions are transmitted through the on-board antenna and the wireless base station next to the track. finally, the control personnel of the Beitun Machinery Factory make use of the train control system installed in the front and back of the car to carry out various operation and protection actions, and monitor the running condition of the car through the automatic train monitoring system.
The Transportation Bureau said that self-driving is a trend in the world. Taichung is ready to meet international standards, and the autopilot of the MRT is the best example. The speed of an electric car is calculated by computer. Acceleration and deceleration is more stable and comfortable than manual driving, and it is faster and safer than artificial judgment and operation, leading Taichung to a new field of international traffic.
