Building Geographic Information Database of Ancient and famous trees
Recently, the Forestry Bureau of Hukou County, Jiangxi Province, taking the "one map" of woodland as the carrier, relying on the forestry technical investigation team, established a geographic information management system for ancient and famous trees, which recorded in detail the identity information of ancient and famous trees, such as their names, ages, longitude and latitude coordinates, protection grades, responsible units and responsible persons, and recent measures for protection and management, so as to realize dynamic monitoring and scientific management and protection of ancient and famous trees.
At present, the information of 130 ancient and famous trees in Hukou County is recorded into the database. Among them, there are 28 first-class ancient trees, 27 second-class ancient trees and 75 third-class ancient trees, which are distributed in 14 townships and towns throughout the county.
