Sponsored by Hunan Provincial Greening Committee and Hunan Forestry Department, the selection activity of "Provincial trees and Provincial Flowers" was officially launched on June 1. Provincial trees and provincial flowers each list ten options. Members of the public can vote for candidates for "provincial trees" and "provincial flowers" on the selection columns set up on Hunan Provincial Government Portal, Red net and "Hunan Forestry" Wechat official account, starting from now until July 31.

The selection criteria of "provincial tree" and "provincial flower" are required to be ornamental and symbolic. The "provincial tree" must be tall and straight, beautiful in shape, well-developed trunk and luxuriant branches; "provincial flower" must be elegant, mainly viewing flowers, bright colors, beautiful appearance, elegant fragrance, long flowering period, and is deeply loved by the masses. The "provincial tree" should contain the profound connotation of Hunan culture, embody the Hunan spirit of "loyalty, responsibility, seeking truth and strength", and highlight the spiritual style of the people of the whole province, which has symbolic significance of the times and good moral meaning.
