Nanzhao gives full play to the advantages of Magnolia to implement rural rejuvenation

Every year from early spring in late February, in Nanzhao County, Henan Province villages, fields, mountain streams, roads on both sides, see is a magnolia world. Magnolia flowers bloom one after another to welcome guests from afar. Parent-child tour, classmate tour, old age tour and self-driving tour attract tens of thousands of tourists to linger in Magnolia Sea every day.

"Nanzhao is the hometown of Chinese magnolia (Wangchun Magnolia) and the hometown of Chinese magnolia. In recent years, we have broadened our development thinking, planted Magnolia ecological advantages, actively followed the road of combining Magnolia industry development with rural tourism, poverty alleviation, and improvement of human settlements, and promoted the realization of the strategic goal of rural revitalization. Magnolia is entering thousands of households and heading for the whole country." Nanzhao County Forestry Bureau Director Lv Yongjun proudly said.

Play a trump card of "Magnolia"

Nanzhao is the original place and main producing area of Magnolia wangchun. Nanzhao has a long history of planting Magnolia wangchun. In 2002, Nanzhao passed the certification of origin protection of Magnolia by AQSIQ.

In the process of implementing the rural revitalization strategy, Nanzhao County insists on doing a good job of "Magnolia" and vigorously develops Magnolia flower industry according to the concept of "base planting, standardized production and brand management."

At present, the area of flowers and trees dominated by Magnolia in Nanzhao County has reached 380,000 mu, ranking first in the city and in the forefront of the province. There are 55 professional flower and wood production villages, more than 200 flower and wood professional cooperatives and 6 provincial flower and wood leading enterprises in the whole county. The only industrialization cluster of Magnolia flowers and trees in Henan Province has been built, initially forming the industrial pattern of Magnolia flowers and trees.

Actively excavate Yulan ecological culture. In Shantou Village, Yunyang Town, the first forest village built, Nanzhao Yulan Promotion Conference, the first China (Nanzhao) Yulan Flower Conference, the first to third China Yulan Seminar, and the opening ceremony of Yulan Characteristic Town have been held successively.

The county explored a "Nanzhao Experience" to realize the rural revitalization strategy.

In February and March every year, when spring is warm and cold, going to Nanzhao to "enjoy magnolia flowers, visit forest villages, eat farmhouse meals and live in forest families" has become a necessary option for rural leisure eco-tourism of surrounding citizens.

Building the "Double Ten" Ecological Project

Rural revitalization needs appropriate rural industrial support.

Nanzhao's basic county situation of "seven mountains, one water, one farmland and one road and manor" determines Nanzhao's "way out in the mountains, hope in the forest", and also determines the foundation of Nanzhao's rural revitalization in the forest.

Over the years, the Forestry Bureau of Nanzhao County has closely centered on the construction goal of "greening the whole region and scenic spot" put forward by the county party committee and county government, vigorously implemented the "Double Ten" ecological project, laying an industrial foundation for the revitalization of Nanzhao countryside.

First, the "Top Ten" Flower and Wood Boutique Demonstration Park concentrates on building ten flower and wood boutique demonstration parks such as Magnolia Ecological Park, International Wood City, Jinyu Garden, Wanwanshu Ecological Park, Zijin Garden and Decang Garden through measures such as park guidance, brand creation, leading drive, scientific and technological innovation and policy incentives, laying the foundation for rural leisure flower viewing and sightseeing agriculture tourism.

The second is to build and construct "ten major" characteristic forestry ecological bases. According to the overall requirements of "ecological forestry industry and ecological forestry industrialization", various modes such as "company + base + farmer household", model drive and large household management are adopted, focusing on "ten major bases" such as 10,000 mu of Magnolia flower standardized planting base in Xiaodian Township, 10,000 mu of Gleditsia sinensis and Acer truncatum base in Yinhe Hushan Township, 10,000 mu of high-quality peach base in Yunyang Town, Jinlei Euonymus base in Qiaoduan Town and soft seed pomegranate base in Sikeshu Township. Vigorously develop woody traditional Chinese medicinal materials dominated by magnolia flower, locust pod and Euonymus bark, woody oil plants dominated by walnut, and organic fresh fruits dominated by high-quality peach and pear, laying a foundation for rural leisure forest fruit picking agricultural tourism.

Implementation of the "Magnolia Corridor" color enhancement plan

To promote rural revitalization, it is necessary to develop the support of rural leisure tourism, as well as the multi-support of points, lines and surfaces, and the seamless connection and networking of points, lines and surfaces.

Over the past few years, the Forestry Bureau of Nanzhao County has insisted on closely combining the plan of "Yulan Corridor" with the construction of Nanzhao scenic spot. According to the requirements of "flowers in spring, shade in summer, color in autumn and green in winter," the Forestry Bureau of Nanzhao County has started to implement the plan of "Yulan Ecological Corridor" to erect a colorful bridge for rural revitalization.

In 2017, flowers and trees dominated by magnolia will be planted at a high standard on provincial highway s231 and national highway g345, taking the lead in building a 100-kilometer magnolia ecological corridor, forming a 110-kilometer magnolia sea corridor in spring, connecting forest villages along the line to assist rural tourism.

In 2018, Yulan will be planned to be planted in a unified way within a 30m-wide range on both sides of National Highway g207 and Provincial Highway s333, reasonably matching seedlings such as Photinia and Lagerstroemia, and building a permanent ecological sightseeing forest belt.

On Baichitan, Wuduo Mountain and other tourist highways, it is planned to plant Magnolia, Lagerstroemia, Hollyhock and other flowers and plants, implement integrated management of forest seedlings, and comprehensively close mountains for afforestation within the first ridge range on both sides of the road to improve the forest landscape along the way.

By greening the main traffic roads of the whole county in batches and levels with high standards, the pattern of forest villages connected in series will be realized, the overall construction level of forest villages will be improved, and finally the construction goal of forest villages in the whole green and scenic spots of "villages in forests, forests in villages, trees on roads, trees in shade, trees planted in front of houses and houses, and flowers blooming all the year round in courtyards" will be achieved.

Start the construction of "100 Forest Villages"

Rural revitalization needs a beautiful environment and a harmonious life community of mountains, rivers, forests, fields, lakes and grasses.

In the implementation of rural revitalization strategy, Nanzhao County Forestry Bureau relies on forest village construction to enrich the cultural roots of rural revitalization.

In view of the current situation of low greening and beautification level of key poor villages in the county, according to the forest village standard of "trees must be planted in front of roads, trees must be shaded, trees must be planted in front of and behind houses, and flowers are always blooming in courtyards all the year round", and in line with the principle of "highlighting key points and implementing them step by step", the forestry poverty alleviation work concept of "100 forest villages construction" is put forward.

Among the key poverty-stricken villages in 14 townships of the county, 100 forest villages are planned to be built.

Among them, in 2018, the Implementation Plan for Forest Village Greening and Beautification Project will be prepared with natural villages in 35 key poverty-stricken villages as units, highlighting one village, one landscape, one village, one industry and one village. Efforts will be made from five aspects to improve the ecological livable level of rural areas, and strive to basically build beautiful livable villages with ecological harmony, industrial development, civilized rural style, rich life and distinctive characteristics by 2020.

At present, the completed forest villages such as Stone Village and Shantou Village of Yunyang Town, Guoying Village and Longwangmiao Village of Nanhedian Town, Shandi Village of Xiaodian Township and Huangtuzui Village of Sikeshu Township have become the scenic spots for rural leisure tourism in Nanzhao, attracting tourists from around Nanyang and inside and outside the province.

Fresh air, precious flowers and trees and beautiful environment attract tourists from all directions in Stone Village of Maolin Xiuzhu, Ancient Vine Old Tree and Yulan Ring Village, receiving more than 200,000 tourists annually.

In May 2016, the program group of CCTV "Home in the Distance" selected Stone Village to shoot "Exploring the Great Wall of Chu and Searching for Stone Village." Stone village simple, natural, leisurely rural life, more famous, sought after by people.
