Chenopodium No.1 is a new variety of Artemisia annua developed in Hubei, and it is also a high-yielding variety suitable for local cultivation in Hubei. The following article will share the breeding process and key points of cultivation and management of Chenopodium No.1.

1 selection and breeding process

In the spring of 2011, one mutant from the natural population of wild Artemisia annua was selected from Chenghu wetland and transferred to the primary experimental field for propagation.

In June 2011, the Lignified stems of the mutants were cut into 18 segments of 10 cm according to "one leaf, one bud" and cut into the primary identification nursery. With wild Artemisia annua and Artemisia annua varieties in Chenghu wetland as control, 4 excellent individual plants (1-1, 1-2, 1-4, 1-7) were selected.

In September 2011, 4 primary selected individual plants and 38 cutting seeds were entered into the check identification nursery, and the wild Artemisia annua varieties in Shenhu wetland and Yunnan Artemisia annua varieties were used as controls to eliminate the weak growth plants in the mutant lines.

From December 2011 to spring 2012, wild Artemisia annua and Artemisia yunnanensis varieties in Chenhu wetland were used as controls. The superior plant 1-1-8 was cut into 10 segments according to "one leaf, one bud" and entered the final selection identification nursery. The wild Artemisia annua varieties in Chenghu wetland and Yunnan Artemisia annua varieties were used as controls.

In June 2012, cuttage propagation was carried out with Yunnan Artemisia annua and Artemisia annua Nanjing as control. The results showed that 1-1-8-6 clones had the same performance and good comprehensive characters, and a large number of remaining plants were preliminarily named Chenopodium No.1.

2 characteristic characteristics

Chenopodium No. 1, with strong growth potential, 3, 4 or 5 palmately divided leaves, green leaves, small leaves (13.1 cm × 6.8 cm), green stems, 27.8 cm long commercial stems, 0.72 cm thick, 19.3 g quality; cutting planting, 50 days in spring and autumn, 55 days in winter and early spring; fragrance, crisp taste, high yield, moderate disease resistance and strong stress resistance.

The results showed that the yield reached 1 284.96kg/667m2, which was 24.86% and 11.82% higher than that of Nanjing Artemisia annua and Yunnan Artemisia annua respectively, and the harvest was 2 and 5 days earlier than that of Nanjing Artemisia annua and Yunnan Artemisia annua respectively. Detected by Hubei legume (vegetable) Plant Engineering Technology Research Center, the contents of vitamin C, soluble sugar and protein of Artemisia annua L. were 5.9g / mg/g, 168.01 μ g / g and 26.75ug / g respectively.

3 main points of cultivation

3.1 stubble arrangement

From cutting to harvest, the variety has 45-50 days in summer and autumn, 55-60 days in winter and spring, and can produce 4-5 crops in the whole year.

The first crop: the seeds with good growth in the field were retained in the spring harvest, and the stems were taken and cut into 10 cm segments around July 15, and harvested in late August and early September, and 1 / 2 cm was left at the base after harvest.

The second stubble: in the first ten days of September, it germinated on the first stubble and left 1 / 2 cm at the base of the stem during harvest.

The third crop: it began to germinate in late October and harvested at the end of November.

The fourth crop sprouted in early December and could be harvested from late January to mid-February the following year.

The fifth crop: this crop germinated and grew in the fields harvested in the fourth crop at the end of January and finished in early March. Apply organic fertilizer once before the start of each crop.

3.2 colonization

Do a good job of land preparation before planting. Applying sufficient base fertilizer, turning deep for 25 cm, and then rotary ploughing once to open a ditch to make the border flat, the width of the border can be determined according to the field, and the width of the ditch is 30-40 cm.

Cutting and planting, the row spacing is 15 cm, the plant spacing is 10 cm,11000~12000 / 667m2, and the fixed root water is enough.

3.3 Water and fertilizer management

Before soil preparation, 667m2 applied organic compound fertilizer 100 kg or farm organic fertilizer 2000 kg, enzyme bacteria bio-organic fertilizer 50 kg; colonization and germination, topdressing nitrogen fertilizer once, watering the stem up to 15-20 cm, applying foliar fertilizer once.

3.4 Disease and pest control

In spring, summer and autumn, the temperature is high, mainly to control insect pests, to spray vinegar and hang anti-insect board to control aphids and whitefly, to prevent downy mildew and gray mildew in winter, pay attention to ventilation and dehumidification, and sparse planting properly.

3.5 harvesting

The length of the stem is 20-30 cm, and it is harvested when the stem is not lignified. The hot season in summer and autumn can be divided into 2 batches or 1 batch according to the market price; in the cold season in winter and spring, the harvest period can be extended and harvested many times.

The above is the whole content of the new Artemisia annua variety Chenopodium No.1. If you are interested in this variety, you can consider it according to your own actual situation!
