I also have a formal job. I need to sneak out of work every week to water it all afternoon and then go home. I have no rest on weekends and run to the greenhouse (only 20 ping is mine! )

When I mix soil at home, I basically use 1-3mm granular soil, which contains volcanic rock because it has holes that can drain water and increase air permeability (very important). There is deer marsh, deer marsh will slowly pulverize, can basically replace the role of peat. Nutrition supply I generally add a small amount of rice husk charcoal (do not add more, easy to burn seedlings, raw stone flowers do not like fertilizer), plus some other particles, basically the same size.

At the bottom of the flowerpot I will pad about 1 cm of ceramsite, on the one hand, it can drain water, on the other hand, it can be breathable, and at the same time, it also has the consideration of insect prevention.

In the greenhouse, I use particles that are basically half peat mixed with half, because the soil can retain water better and can be watered less frequently. But you have to turn the basin every year, because it is easy to take root, of course, the whole grain is also born, but more peat will have a greater chance. Although this saves the time of watering, turning the basin every year is also a big project, each with its own advantages and disadvantages.

(note that adult plants still need to be careful, because adult plants are too large, the vitality will be small, turning the pot is not easy to maintain, easy to die.)

Some friends must have said that many greenhouses are full of peat. You are talking nonsense. What I want to say is:

First: you don't see the annual sowing and death in the greenhouse! We enthusiasts, we all buy seeds one by one, sow seeds one by one, and we can't sow them one by one in the greenhouse. Of course, our hearts are stuffed when we die a few pots, and the baskets of death in the greenhouse are numb.

Second: the greenhouse is to make money, the whole grain or half of the particle cost is not relatively high, once or several times a year to change the soil, you call the main work of the greenhouse can not live?

Third: plants have a problem of tolerance and adaptability. If plants adapt and grow well in that culture environment at the beginning, then peat culture is fine.

Key point: the air permeability of the soil must be taken into account. Only in this way can the root grow well, then the plant will be healthy and not easy to die. If you do not root a lot of time, remove the factors of weather and season, remove the vitality of the plant itself, and consider whether the soil is not so breathable.
