The hot summer is coming, it is very difficult for succulent plants, many flower friends will struggle with succulent plants in summer to change pots, personal advice is to try not to change pots in summer, unless there is a reason to change pots, such as newly bought meat or original meat suffering from diseases and insect pests need to turn over pots and change soil for treatment. Why is it best not to change pots for more meat in summer? Because most succulents are dormant or semi-dormant in summer, even healthy succulents need shade, ventilation, water control and other ways to make them safe for summer. If we change pots at this time, the roots cannot recover in time, and it is easy to cause plant death.

Yesterday, I bought a few pots of meat in the flower market. The overall condition is good. The only deficiency is that the pots are small and the meat is too much, which causes the meat to be squeezed together and deformed. This not only inhibits the growth of meat but also the nutrition cannot keep up. The meat cannot absorb enough nutrients to satisfy its healthy growth. So I had to repot them.

Crowded meat group squeezed the original basin tightly, it was difficult to take off the basin, so I chose to cut the original plastic basin directly, so as to prevent the meat group from being hurt when taking off the basin.

After taking off the pot, one could see that the dense roots were intertwined and could not be separated at all. The soil in the pot was so little that one could hardly see it. Moreover, one could clearly see that the space between the meat and seedlings was filled with dried leaves and rotten leaves. How could this situation be broken? To be on the safe side, I chose to transplant the whole pot, the root system did not move at all, and the whole pot was transplanted to a new pot. Because the summer is too hot, if this time dragging soil roots dry roots and then on the pot, then the risk is really too big, so let them safely through this summer to say again.

I chose a ceramic pot that was much larger than the original one. I padded the pot bottom with volcanic rock that was one-third of the height. The volcanic rock was permeable to air and water, which could effectively prevent the pot from accumulating water. Then the soil was made of peat and particles that I prepared myself. I added some small medicinal particles that killed bacteria and insects into it. A thin layer of prepared granular soil was sprinkled on the volcanic rock. I put the meat that had just been removed from the pot into it. Then I filled the gaps in the pot with granular soil. Finally, I paved the volcanic rock that I also used. This way the pot is finished.

The last step is the key to raising meat and preventing black rot in summer, which is to clean up the residual leaves. When taking off the pot, you can see that the black residual leaves directly fill up the meat seedlings. These are the dead leaves accumulated for a long time, which are easy to catch diseases and insect pests, especially in summer, which is easy to cause a closed and stuffy environment, so it must be cleaned up. After cleaning, the meat not only became much cleaner but also had enough room to grow.
