Potted asparagus is favored by the general public because it is easy to grow, beautiful and generous, and absorbs toxic gases. The whole plant of asparagus is green, the stems and branches are slender but tall and straight, and the leafy branches extend horizontally like a triangle, degenerating into membranous scaly leaves, which are attached to the branches like down. Because its stem is clustered from the root, the height is different, so that the cloud-like branches and leaves are stacked one after another, so it is also known as cloud bamboo.

If you want to make the green and elegant appearance of asparagus, it must be pruned in time (spring or autumn).

There are two methods to propagate asparagus: sowing and ramet. Asparagus, which has been cultivated for about a year by sowing and propagation, should mainly strengthen the management of its natural growth during the growing period. When you see the new stem growing and reaching a certain height, that is, the whole leaf base, especially the branches at the top of the stem, the position of the flowerpot should be determined according to your own requirements, and the new branch will extend horizontally toward the sun. Asparagus in this period generally does not grow new stems with climbing performance, so the plant type generally does not need to be pruned, just need proper binding. Asparagus, which has been cultivated for about two years, begins to grow climbing new stems, which can be dealt with in different ways according to individual specific conditions and hobbies. You can let it grow by hanging rope naturally, or you can attach it to the old stems and branches of flower racks or asparagus, or cut off some at will. But the two practices mentioned later not only affect the growth of asparagus, but also damage the beauty of the whole plant, it is best to carry out proper pruning. The method is to trim the long old stem several times according to the shape of the whole plant and personal requirements, and cut off all or part of the upper part of the old stem with branches and leaves. In order to make the new branches from the leaf base of the old stem after pruning have a certain level, there should be a difference between the adjacent old stems when pruning. After pruning the old stem for about 20 days, new branches and leaves will sprout from the uppermost leaf base. As for the method of determining the extension direction of the newly grown branches and leaves, it is the same as mentioned above.

The newly grown branches and leaves should not touch other branches or objects during the growth period, otherwise it will affect the normal growth of new branches and leaves and the beauty of plant type.

In order to make the whole asparagus grow well and have a beautiful appearance, it is also necessary to cut off the overdense, withered yellow branches and delicate stems to facilitate ventilation and light, promote growth and be beneficial to ornamental.

As the branches and leaves of asparagus extend horizontally, it is easy to fall on dust, which is not good for its growth and beauty, so it needs to be sprayed with water to remove dust. Before spraying water, it is best to gently shake the stems and leaves with your hands, or blow with an air pump, first remove some floating dust, and then spray and wash slowly with a fine hole spray can, so that the effect is better. Gently shake off the water droplets left on it after spraying. Some people use transparent plastic pockets to cover asparagus against dust temporarily, although this is also possible, but it will affect ventilation, lighting, and is not conducive to viewing.

When binding asparagus, it is not appropriate to insert thick bamboo and wood strips and use too thick rope in the box, so as not to set off the slender stems and branches of asparagus. Apply thin thread with similar color to asparagus to bind stems, branches and adjust plant type, so as not to affect its verdant appearance. Reasonable management, potted asparagus will make your room take on a new look.
