Last Updated: 2024/12/18, There are many reasons for the rotten roots of Magnolia: if it is caused by too much water, it is appropriate to reduce the amount of water to keep the soil moist. If it is caused by a large amount of fertilizer, then reduce the amount of fertilizer. If it is caused by not changing the pot for a long time, cut off and disinfect the rotten roots, replace the appropriate flowerpot and soil, and replant.

First, reduce watering

Reason: if you can not control the amount of water, watering too much, it will lead to stagnant water in its roots, long-term stagnant water will lead to rotting roots.

Solution: properly reduce the amount of watering, as long as the soil is kept moist, there is no need to water, in summer can be watered twice a day, spring and autumn can be determined according to the degree of soil wetness, watering should be reduced in winter, there can be no stagnant water.

II. Rational fertilization

Reason: if you do not control the amount of fertilizer to Magnolia, or apply high concentration of fertilizer, it will be easy to burn roots, and the roots will rot as a result.

Solution: moderate reduction of fertilization, fertilization should not be close to its root, should be far away from the root of Magnolia, too much fertilizer can appropriately increase the amount of water, so that the excess fertilizer can be discharged more quickly.

Third, change the basin in time

Reason: long-term do not change the basin will produce a lot of stagnant water, once there is stagnant water appears its roots are very easy to rot, long-term do not change the soil will breed a lot of bacteria, may harm the roots, and lead to rotting roots.

Solution: change the pot as soon as possible, disinfect the flowerpot, change it into suitable soil, cut off the rotten roots when changing the pot, then disinfect it, rinse it and dry it and replant it.
