Family Marguerite pot culture

To sum up simply: soil, basin, fertilizer and topping skills.

Soil and basin: the seedlings just bought are all small seedlings (figure 1). I use the nutritious soil made from farm chicken manure + coconut brick + burning soil + perlite to fake the seedlings. If you don't have these, you can buy the nutritious soil that has been deployed online. This kind of soil is soft, breathable and fertile, which is especially suitable for the growth of seedlings. The basin I used for fake planting is a 12-centimeter two-color basin. The two-color basin has many calibers, which can be used with about 10 centimeters. (figure 2).

Figure 2

The two-color basin is a very easy-to-use fake planting basin. When you take off the basin, you can buckle it upside down and the soil mass will come out without hurting the roots at all. Specially remind flower growers of the concept of fake planting. Small seedlings use small pots, and large seedlings use large pots. Why small seedlings small pots, big seedlings big pots? If the seedling is small, the root system is naturally weak. When planted in a small basin, there is not much soil in the basin. If you install less soil, you will naturally pour less water. In this way, the dry and wet cycle of water in the basin soil can be very fast. What is the dry-wet cycle? Even the basin soil dries quickly and wets quickly. In order to absorb more water, the root system will try to grow roots. When the root is good, the seedling will be fine. When planting small seedlings in a large basin, because there is much soil and water, the dry-wet cycle in the whole basin soil is not so fast. Weak roots are often soaked in water, resulting in rotting roots. As soon as the root is rotten, the seedling will say goodbye. If you raise the root system of the seedling well, you will not worry about whether the seedling will grow up in the later stage.

Fei: if the flowers are to grow well, the necessary fertilizer is indispensable. In the initial stage of pseudo-planting, fertilization is relatively less because it is planted in nutritious soil. Xiao Miao can't stand being fat either. After waiting for the seedling to take the pot, about 20 days, I began to fertilize. Fei Biwang or Huaduoduo No. 1 are suitable for the growth of seedlings. Fertilize once a week, the proportion is 1 gram of fertilizer to water 1500 ml, about 500ml of mineral water 3 bottles. Soon, the roots of the seedlings will grow out of the original pseudo-planting basin, at this time can be changed to a larger basin, can also be directly planted. Planting basin can choose a basin of more than 20 centimeters. I first changed the 18-centimeter two-color basin, and then finally planted it into the 27-centimeter basin, because I wanted it to open bigger. (figure 3)

Figure 3

After planting, I am diligent in fertilizing. It is still Biwang and Huaduoduo, twice a week, the ratio has changed from 1 RV 1500 to 1 Rd 1000. In the later stage, I was ready to let it blossom, and began to use Bihua or Huaduoduo No. 2. The ratio is also 1 / 1 / 1000, twice a week.

Topping skills: if you want Marguerite to become a fireworks artifact, you must master the topping technique. My topping skill is a formula: six stay four go two. One branch, with six leaves, can pinch off two leaves. The purpose of leaving the remaining four leaves is to grow new buds from the edge of the lateral buds, so that the plants can grow more flowering branches. If you don't hit the top, you often stand out and blossom in small quantities. Without topping, all the nutrients of the plant are supplied directly up, which is called top advantage. After topping, this advantage is destroyed, and nutrients are distributed to the rest of the leaves, prompting them to grow axillary buds.

Let's make a comparison with the following two pictures: figure 4 is a straight Marguerite, with five pairs of leaves. There is nothing special about each pair of leaves. In figure 5, I pinched off one pair of leaves and left eight leaves. Because it is a small seedling, so I have not pinched down to only four leaves. After topping, the originally flat four pairs of leaves grew dense buds. After the axillary bud grows out, when it grows to six leaves, we can top it according to the method of six leaves, four leaves and two leaves, and constantly promote it to grow more branches. If you want to hit the ball, hit the top in every direction, let it have a Radian, maintain a consistent growth trend, so that as time goes by, the ball will come out slowly. (figure 6) Fertilizer, water, and topping skills, and then ensure enough light, these are in place, we can sit and wait for flowers. (figure 7)
