Diseases and insect pests of carambola: symptoms and control methods of carambola anthracnose
There are many common diseases in planting carambola. Do you know the anthracnose of carambola? What are its symptoms? Let's learn about how to prevent carambola diseases and insect pests.
Symptoms of anthrax:
The disease mainly harms young shoots, leaves and fruits. Red and round spots appeared at the beginning of the leaves, and then gradually expanded to cause reddish brown, light yellow spots in the center, promoting early aging and defoliation of the leaves. The pathogen of anthracnose has the phenomenon of latent infection on the fruit, and the disease spot on the fruit often occurs during the storage or sale period after harvest. At the initial stage, it often produces sunken round spots from the edges and corners of the fruit, the disease spot is reddish brown, and light pink conidia appear on the surface, and then develop irregular disease spots, and the affected parts soften and rot. High temperature and heavy rain are beneficial to the spread of the disease.
Integrated control of diseases and insect pests in carambola
1. Thoroughly do a good job in field hygiene, remove and destroy the leaves, branches and fruits of diseased insects in the field at any time, or deal with them to ferment and decompose them as soon as possible, so as to reduce the source of infection. especially the fallen fruit damaged by oriental fruit fly or Huaji leaf moth and the leaves, branches and fruits suffering from bacterial spot disease.
2. Carambola bacterial spot disease can be spread by carambola scion and seedlings. in order to prevent the invasion or spread of bacterial spot disease, scions should not be taken or seedlings produced in affected areas should not be purchased.
3. Prophylactic application of bacterial spot disease was carried out during the period of physiological defoliation, when new shoots grew after pruning, spring rain, Meiyu and typhoon rainy season. After strong cutting of diseased branches and leaves in the park, the diseased branches and leaves are applied once every other week for 5 to 6 times in a row. The recommended agents are 85% alkaline copper oxychloride wettable powder 300x, 68.8% more streptomycin wettable powder 1000 times, 4-4 Bordeaux solution, 73% zinc-Bordeaux wettable powder 800x or 40% copper clenbuterol wettable powder 500x. The safe harvest time is 6 days. After fruit picking and pruning, Bordeaux solution was applied to the whole garden for 1 or 2 times, and the solution should be applied to the ground.
4. sex pheromone was used to trap and kill the male moth, and poisonous methyl clove oil was used to trap and kill the male adults of oriental fruit flies.
