Rose has bright and rich colors and beautiful flower shapes, has the characteristics of blooming in the growing season, and plays an important role in beautifying the yard. In the courtyard, the rose is used to arrange flower beds in various forms, or planted by the door or in front of the fence. It is resistant to high temperature, and it can still bloom happily in the hot summer.

Cultivated rose likes the environment with sufficient sunshine and air circulation, protection from cold and dry wind, and neutral soil with loose, fertile and good drainage. Do not cultivate in the shade of the building or in the shade of the trees, but when it is hot in midsummer, it will grow better with proper side shade.

The optimum growth temperature of most rose varieties is 15: 26 ℃ in daytime and 10: 15 ℃ in evening, and the relative humidity should be kept at 70: 80%. When the temperature is below 5 ℃, it goes into dormancy. It can withstand 35 ℃ high temperature in summer, but when the temperature lasts more than 30 ℃, the plant also enters semi-dormancy state.

From South China to Northeast China, the flowering period of rose is from March to June. Taking the Yangtze River Basin as an example, the rose sprouted from late February to early March, entered the first flowering peak in early May, and could continue to bloom until early July. During the high temperature and summer period from July to August, it enters a semi-dormant state, and when the temperature drops slightly in September, the rose forms a large number of buds again, and the second flowering peak appears, and the flowering period can be extended to the first frost.

The most important link in the cultivation of rose is fertilization, which is mainly applied with base fertilizer after pruning in winter, and granulated fertilizer of rotten chicken manure is applied in trench, 8-10 grains per plant. In the growing season, the organic nutrient solution of rose was applied once a week and diluted 500 times to irrigate the root.

In addition, the rose was watered once in 20 days in the dry season, stopped in the rainy season and paid attention to drainage, and enough frozen water was watered before winter. Water and fertilizer management should also pay attention to stop fertilizing after autumn to prevent autumn shoots from growing and suffering frost. When the leaves begin to spread in spring, the new roots grow in large numbers, and thick fertilizer can not be applied to avoid damage to the new roots.

The pruning of rose should be carried out in early winter. Early pruning can easily cause new branches to sprout and suffer frost injury. The degree of pruning should be determined according to the desired tree shape, and each plant should have 3 to 5 strong trees. Usually, those with short plant shape and large flowers should be cut low, that is, they can be re-cut at 30cm to 45cm from the surface; for those with higher plant type and more flowering, they should be cut high and cut gently at 75cm and 120cm above the surface.

The side branches inside the crown of the rose need to be thinned to cut the diseased branches, insect branches and withered branches, and the larger plants need to be re-cut when transplanting, and the rose with strong upright nature can also be cut into a single trunk tree.
