Papaya planting method: how is papaya planted? How to plant papaya seeds
Papaya is easy to grow seedlings, spit seeds on the ground, after a rain, may grow a lot of papaya seedlings, however, sometimes want papaya seedlings, it just does not sprout, many papaya seeds are eaten by ants or other insects or the temperature and humidity are not right. Let's take a look at how to grow papaya.
1: soak the seeds
The film of the outer shell of papaya seeds can be removed or not, but it only takes a long time to germinate. as for how to remove it, it can be removed by friction. I soak it for one night first (figure 1), which is easier to remove.
2: remove the film and prepare the soil
After soaking overnight, the film can be removed with gauze or cloth; after removing the film (figure 2), there is only a hard inner shell that cannot be broken by hand. Now you can prepare to sow seeds and raise seedlings. First prepare a seedling tray and soil. I use the soil of vegetable garden A (natural farming method for 2 years) to dig up the soft soil on the lower surface of the leaves.
3: sowing, soil covering and mulching
If you sprinkle the seeds on the surface of the soil, you can cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil, of course, without covering the thin soil. However, do not cover too thick, it may sprout slowly or rot away. Next, sprinkle some water to make the soil moist, finally cover with a layer of cloth (figure 3), and put the seedlings under the tree or in a cool place. The purpose of covering cloth (preferably black shading net) is to shade and moisturize. If the temperature is high in summer, it may be no problem. In winter, heat preservation and moisturizing are very important. The optimum temperature for papaya germination is about 25 degrees Celsius.
4: moderate watering, waiting for germination
In the future, we should go and have a look every day. If the water is too dry, we should water it. Once it sprouts, take off the black shading net. About 3-4 days after the hat bud (figure 4), like durian plucked shell, but only two shells.
5: transplant seedlings
When the leaves of the seedlings grow out (2 leaves), prepare the seedlings to be transplanted into individual pots.
6: planting
When the papaya seedlings grow to a certain extent, they will be planted where they want to be planted. If you go to the seedling line to buy papaya seedlings, you can plant one plant in one place. If you raise your own seedlings, plant 3 plants in one location, and wait for them to grow up and blossom. Then decide to keep that one (the public flower is removed). Reason: the seeds of the seedling row have been screened. At the same time, you can make papaya seedlings grow longer and plant flat when planting, which is a kind of dwarfing, which is convenient for later harvest. Of course, there are other ways to achieve this, and as far as I know, there are three ways. It's done here.
