As an extension of the chairman's private clubhouse, the terrace garden is mainly used for reception, negotiation and leisure activities. When taking over the project at first, considering the outdoor terrace garden as an extension of the indoor clubhouse, the whole garden design is divided into east and west parts, with simple atmosphere as the tone, and the spatial layout suits the function of business and leisure.

The customer's positioning for the garden is that the east terrace space is in line with the characteristics of the business and leisure clubhouse, setting up a leisure platform, bar and barbecue area; the west terrace takes micro-golf as the theme, and the golf green putter area combined with green plant walls with rich plants.

During the re-planning and design, the east and west terraces are basically exposed concrete, surrounded by retaining walls about 1.3 meters high, and there are boilers, air-conditioning equipment, and prominent chimney vents on the terrace. The current situation requires designers not only to consider the maximum use of space, but also to be beautiful when deepening the design.

Design ideas

East terrace

The east terrace takes the blooming petals and bud symbols as the design theme, and the circle and arc as the main design elements to soften the monotony of the square space.

Two symmetrical circular leisure scenic spots are skillfully arranged at the end of the bud, and the third step is raised, with high-end outdoor sofas and seats.

In the middle of the flower bracts, a set of very beautiful bar is customized. The white bar chairs shaped like calla lilies are glittering and translucent in the sunlight. On one side of the bud is the barbecue area, and on the other side is the viewing area.

The whole space of the east terrace is compact and coherent, with carefully selected red maple, yellow poplar, all over the sky, one-leaf orchid, beautiful girl cherry, tortoise shell holly, small tea plum, western rhododendron and other plants. In the small space, designers can still build lawns. Make the whole landscape space more open and comfortable.

In addition, a major difficulty on the east terrace is that there are three chimney vents in the corner of the balcony, which are about 1.5 meters above the exposed surface. This part has been adjusted many times in the process of construction, and finally determined that the scheme to be implemented is to protect it with a steel frame structure. and made stepped wooden steps placed on potted flowers for decoration, on the one hand to facilitate future maintenance work, on the other hand to beautify the air outlet, let it become a scene that can not be ignored.

West terrace

The west terrace is connected with the entrance of the east terrace, but the west terrace pays more attention to the green and leisure experience, taking the putter area of the miniature golf lawn as the center, spreading clear layers of green plants in all directions.

The three walls of the terrace are made of green vertical plant walls, and the whole is a "green blanket to be rolled out". The small leisure platform is integrated into it, and the overall space is comfortable and pleasant.

For plant configuration, the west terrace has three skeleton-shaped plants: Hongyunguo, tea plum, styled boxwood, and an elegant red maple beside the circular leisure platform. supplemented by shrub balls and rich ground cover plants: June snow, safflower follow wood ball, rhododendron ball, Hosta, sage, leaf vines, gardenia, ivy and so on.

Construction difficulties

The technical difficulties in the construction of the balcony are mainly the drainage of the roof of the balcony, reducing the load of the balcony as much as possible, creating plant growth conditions and preventing plant root puncture.

First of all, there are no drains in the east-west terrace, and there are only two water outlets in each part. Designers focus on the drainage problem in the design process.

The original outlet is used as a scenting well, and the siphon principle is used to increase the drainage speed and discharge. at the same time, a circle of drainage ditch is set up around the balcony wall, and the bottom drainage structure is constructed in strict accordance with the standard to ensure smooth drainage.

Secondly, the base condition of the balcony is bare and there is no soil, which leads to the use of light nutrient soil in all the plant planting soil.

Plants with large demand for soil thickness are planted in flower beds, and the civil construction part is mainly made of lightweight materials to reduce the load on the roof as much as possible.
