Last Updated: 2024/10/07, Clematis raised by neighbors, after a branch cutting, climbed all over the wall in a short time, the explosive power is amazing! Today, Huahua teaches everyone how to make clematis bloom more and more prosperous!

Early flowering large flower pattern

Early flowers often bloom on old branches in spring and summer.

Common varieties

Common species are bee love, Aisha, president, Blu-ray and so on.

Maintenance skills

1. Soil

Like fertile, loose weak alkaline soil, to maintain ventilation, otherwise it is easy to wither.

2. Water and fertilizer

Watering can be seen as dry and wet, and it is best not to water at noon in summer. It is easy to rot the roots and pour out the stagnant water in the basin in time after rain.

Nitrogen fertilizer was applied once in spring budding period, and a thin compound fertilizer was applied before flowering.

3. Pruning

Early flowering clematis usually produce a large number of flowers in early spring, and the failed branches should be pruned in time after the flowers are withered, which may bloom for the second time.

Large late flower pattern

The large late flower type usually blossoms on the new branches in summer and autumn, usually a single variety, blooming for two seasons.

Common varieties

The common varieties of evening flower are Barbara, Utopia, Blue Angel, Oriental Morning Song, Cardinal and so on.

Maintenance skills

Take Utopia as an example, Utopia is a relatively classic variety in the large flower pattern of late flowers. it has a long flowering period and can open twice a year. It has a strong explosive power and is very suitable for pulling and climbing walls.

I. Cuttage propagation

1. Select the semi-lignified clematis branches between the two nodes and retain 2 buds on the nodes.

2. The soil can choose the mixed medium of peat soil, vermiculite and perlite, and the cutting depth is that the buds on the nodes are just exposed to the soil surface. After planting, the surrounding soil is compacted and watered.

3. Keep the leaves moist in a ventilated place of scattered light, observe whether there are any new bud points, and take root in about 1 month.

4. after taking root, put it in the basin and keep it in astigmatism for about a week, and then gradually increase the light.

II. Water and fertilizer management

1. Utopia is most afraid of withering. It is best to pour water every 1-2 days in summer, preferably in the morning, and then pour out the stagnant water in the basin.

2. The newly planted clematis had better not apply fertilizer in the first year, just add some slow seedling fertilizer to the potted soil, grow rapidly in the second year, and apply thin fertilizer frequently when the number of flowers is large.

III. Lighting management

Utopia likes semi-shade, put it in a good light environment in spring and autumn, properly shade in summer maintenance, and ensure about 4 hours of light indoors every day.

IV. Pest control

Clematis has a strong ability to resist disease, and it is easy to get Fusarium wilt in high temperature in summer. If it can not recover after watering and spraying, it means that it is infected by bacteria, and methyl topiramate can be sprayed once a month.

Common insect pests are aphids, leaf miners, red spiders and so on, which can be sprayed with 100 times ammonia at night.

Florida type

The flowering period of Florida type (F series) clematis is usually from May to September. If you keep it warm, it can blossom to December and remain invincible throughout the year.

Common varieties

The common varieties of F clematis include magic purple, new magic purple, green jade, Kasses, pistachio and so on.

Maintenance skills

First, pruning after flowering

The residual flowers of F-line clematis should be trimmed after flowering in late spring, and the three branches under the flowers should be cut off to avoid excessive nutrient consumption and Fusarium wilt.

Second, light, water and fertilizer

F clematis clematis is shade-resistant, not fertilizer-resistant, and can be maintained in half a day. Watering should be dry and wet, and avoid using organic fertilizer.

III. Summer dormancy

When the leaves turn yellow and black in summer, it means that the dormancy period begins. It is best to cut short branches and withered leaves before the end of August. Pruning will affect growth.
