Many friends who like to buy and cultivate succulent plants will buy a lot of meat in the florist, and when they see the beautiful ones, they can't help but buy them home. So, should we change the pot soil for the meat we buy home? do we need to continue to raise it with the original potted soil or replace it all?

In fact, I think that if you buy succulent plants in a flower shop, you should see what kind of flowerpots, what soil, whether the air permeability of the soil is good, whether it is nutritious soil or yellow soil. If it is more expensive succulent, the pots and soil will certainly not be too bad. Whether it can be changed or not, if it is raised in a simple flowerpot, it is best to replace it all.

The soil of the meat bought from the flower market is relatively simple, and it is easy to harden over a long period of time, which is only conducive to reproduction and cultivation, but not conducive to succulent growth, so it is best to replace it, otherwise, the succulent growth will become more and more listless, and it will be too late to regret.

So how should we change the basin?

First of all, be careful to move the succulent plant out of the basin, be careful not to damage the leaves and main roots, remove the excess basin soil, the soil close to the root can be gently brushed off with a small brush, do not pull hard.

Gently shake the succulent root in water to remove impurities from the surface of the root. Do not wobble or rinse forcefully, and minimize damage to the roots.

Clean up the withered roots, rotten roots and over-long old roots, don't be reluctant to trim the old roots, the water absorption and nutrient absorption of the old roots are not strong, cutting off some of the new roots can make the succulent growth more prosperous.

After pruning the roots, soak them in carbendazim for five to ten minutes, then put them in a cool and ventilated place to dry. The water stains on the roots are completely dry, and the roots are slightly dry and you can enter the basin.

Carefully plant the dried succulent plant in the new pot soil and compact the basin soil. At this time, do not immediately watering, basin soil a little wet can, about a week, succulent can grow new roots, and then normal watering maintenance.

Note that in this slow period of more than a week, you can not directly bask in the sun, just put it in a place with astigmatism and ventilation. If the basin soil is too dry, spray some water mist on the surface properly. Be sure to control your hands and don't water them.
