Last Updated: 2024/11/22, Jasmine has strong regeneration ability and is easy to reproduce and survive. There are three propagation methods: cutting, striping and dividing plants. they can be carried out in spring, moldy season and autumn, as long as the climate is suitable, keep moist and pay attention to shading.

Jasmine has strong regeneration ability and easy reproduction and survival. Propagation methods are cuttage, layering, sub-plant 3 methods of these 3 methods, hundred live, can be carried out in spring, mildew season and autumn, as long as the climate is appropriate, keep moist, pay attention to shade is easy to survive.

1. Cutting method

Among the flower friends in Jiangnan area, the survival rate of cuttings of jasmine was the highest in rainy season. The cuttings shall be selected from branches with strong growth, rich tissue and no diseases and insect pests, cut into small sections 12-15 cm long, with 3 - 4 full buds per spike, smooth cut mouth, large inclined plane, which is conducive to healing and rooting. All leaves at the lower part of the cuttings shall be cut off, leaving only 2-3 leaves at the upper part. The cuttings shall be cut along with the cuttings to avoid shadow survival due to evaporation of water.

The cutting depth is 1 - 2-2/3 of the whole length, the cutting plant row spacing is 3- 5cm, the cutting is inserted in sandy loam or clean river sand, after insertion, sufficient water is sprayed with a spray pot, covered with a transparent plastic film cover, the relative humidity of the air is maintained at about 80%, the film cover is removed for ventilation every day, water is sprayed for 1-2 times, the cutting is placed in shade, scattered light is given half a month later, and the cutting is healed and rooted in about 3 weeks.

When the axillary buds of jasmine cuttings grow new leaves, strengthen the illumination, apply organic nutrient solution for flowers every 7-10 days in the growth period, irrigate with 500 times of water, the cuttings can bloom in the same year, generally transplant in the spring of the second year, plant 3- 5 plants in each pot, the pot soil should be loose and fertile, the drainage is good, recover vitality after slow growth, and then irrigate fertilizer once every 7 days or so.

2, layering method

Jasmine layering propagation can be carried out in May and June, select one or two years of rich tissue, no pests and diseases of the branches, line "ground low pressure", after the pressure of adventitious buds after 10 days to half a month that root, 40 days can be from the mother plant with sharp scissors cut separation, and then the new seedlings on the pot, that year can also flower, because the number of potted branches is not many, and the operation is more troublesome, layering propagation is not commonly used.

3. Plant division method

Because jasmine has the characteristics of clustering, adventitious bud germination ability is strong, cultivated for many years in large plants potted plants can be divided into plant propagation. In spring, when the pot is turned over and the soil is changed, the jasmine mother plant is naturally separated into several clusters, and the pots are respectively placed. The shade is required within the first week, and then the jasmine mother plant is moved to a place with sufficient sunshine for maintenance.
