(1) selection of nursery bed location

(2) preparation of seedling bed

1. Tobacco seeds are small, so the soil preparation should be more fine. The soil should be ploughed and disinfected about two weeks before sowing.

2. Make a bed after land preparation, with a width of 1-1.2 meters, a distance of 45 centimeters from one border to another, and a height of 10 centimeters. Honda needs about 50 ping of seedbeds per hectare.

3. 3. Sowing method: using the sowing method, the quantitative seeds are fully mixed with an appropriate amount of fine compost in the container, then evenly scattered on the bed, and finally covered with some straw to avoid direct sunlight and keep moist.

(4) Seedling bed management

1. Water management: after sowing, water is watered once in the morning and evening, and a week after germination, the watering times can be reduced and the amount of water can be increased.

2. Thinning seedlings and weeding: after seed germination, due to uneven density, it is easy to grow and induce diseases and insect pests, so it is necessary to use tweezers to remove overdense and poorly growing tobacco seedlings (Fig. 5-2-2). The work of thinning seedlings can pull out weeds at the same time, which should be carried out in 2-3 times. The distance between seedlings in direct seeding bed should be 5-7 cm. If pseudo-planting is needed, the distance between seedlings should be about 2-3 cm.

3. Application of topdressing: if direct seeding seedlings are washed in case of torrential rain, appropriate amount of topdressing should be added. When fake planting and raising seedlings, there is no need to apply topdressing.

4. Live broadcast and fake planting

Direct seeding seedling is labor-saving and can reduce the chance of toxin disease transmission, but pseudo-planting seedling can promote root group development, make tobacco seedling development strong and tidy, improve the survival rate of transplantation and facilitate management. At present, most of the fake planting methods are adopted in this province.

Pseudo-planting is the best about two weeks after sowing and germination, when the largest leaf of tobacco seedlings is about 2 cm, and the distance between pseudo-seedlings is about 6-8 cm.
