Although this summer is not hot, the recent rainstorm is more, but we can make some small ponds to meet the situation, the "small pool" here is a mini flowerpot production, and do not need much space, can be raised on the balcony or windowsill.

The following mini pond is made up of a variety of plants, including water lilies, hyacinth, papyrus, water bamboo, water lilies, etc.

If you choose a medium water lily or a bowl of lilies, you need plenty of light, or don't blame it if it doesn't blossom (usually about 6 hours of sunshine a day is most suitable).

Next, we begin to prepare the materials.

1. Container selection:

You can choose wooden buckets, large water tanks, non-porous pottery pots, or even concrete sinks, but it is best to have a depth of 40cm to 50cm and a diameter of 70cm to 90cm.

2. Soil selection:

Of course, it is sticky pond mud, silt and other soil (you can buy a pack at the florist or online).

3. Filter frame:

These plastic baskets allow the roots to permeate water and are very suitable for aquatic plants. Isn't that similar to baskets? In fact, it is bought according to the size of the plant.

4. Aquatic fertilizer:

The growth of plants needs some fertilizer, of course, a little compound fertilizer is barely enough.

5. Gravel:

This is used to fix plants, can also be used as decoration, of course, can not use crushed limestone, which will change the alkalinity of the soil or water.

6. Aquatic plants:

Water lilies are more common aquatic plants for flower lovers. They usually blossom in the afternoon or at night, depending on themselves. Here we are talking about planting some water plants such as water shield grass in the water to help clean the water and provide oxygen.

7. Floating plants

Hyacinth is a common floating plant, suitable for shading small fish, but if flooding will kill the fish, so potted plants should also pay attention to their reproduction speed.

8. Other plants

Other plants are papyrus, sea taro and other plants, which are often used in aquatic bonsai.

2. Introduction to the steps of production

Step 1:

Choose a sunny environment (at least 6 hours of sunshine every day), fill the container with water, aquatic plants need some fertility, so be sure to add granular fertilizer to the bottom of the basin, and then add pond mud. (the container here is 50 cm deep and 70 cm in diameter.)

Step 2:

Choose a filter frame to grow good water lilies

Step 3:

Add a gravel layer of about 3 cm

Step 4:

Is it a little different from the way you imagine to slowly put the planted water lilies under the water?

Step 5:

Repeat the above steps to plant papyrus, and put it in the water. The water must drown the basin of papyrus, otherwise the sun exposure is easy to wither.

Step 6:

Plant some water lotus and put it on the side.

Step 7:

The other box is planted with water shield grass, this is used to produce oxygen, whether it is planted or not depends on you.

Step 8:

Put more water in the basin, let the water lily leaves float on the surface, slowly it will grow well, the first week do not take out the sun, see a little light, slowly increase the light, and then pay attention to the removal of weeds.

Remember to put your mini pond in a place with plenty of light, it will need at least 6 hours of sunshine every day, let it enjoy it!
