Last Updated: 2024/11/06, There are many reasons for peppermint rotting roots: if it is caused by overwatering, reduce the amount of water. If it is caused by a large amount of fertilizer, it is necessary to reduce the amount of fertilizer, take it out of the basin soil, cut and disinfect the rotten parts, and replant. If the basin soil is not breathable, then replace the breathable flowerpot and loose soil.

1. Excessive watering

Reason: If the usual amount of watering is too much, it will be easy to produce ponding, once there is ponding, it is easy to rot roots, its roots can not breathe normally, it will lead to rotten roots appear.

Solution: Reduce the amount of watering, wait for the surface soil to dry before watering, but do not pour too much water, if the amount of watering is large, loosen the soil appropriately, and put it in a ventilated place.

Second, large amount of fertilizer

Reason: If you don't grasp the amount of fertilizer, often excessive fertilization will cause fertilizer damage, which will lead to the phenomenon of rotten roots.

Solution: To reduce the amount of fertilizer, stop fertilizing after the rotten roots, remove them from the pot soil, cut off the rotten roots, and then disinfect them. After disinfection, replant them.

Third, the basin soil is airtight

Reason: If the pot soil is airtight, once there is accumulated water, it will be easy to rot the roots, especially in the rainy season. If the pot soil is airtight, it will not only lead to rotten roots, but also lead to the death of the whole plant in serious cases.

Solution: Replace the permeable flowerpot, and the soil should also be replaced with loose and breathable soil, so that when there is accumulated water, it can be discharged more quickly.
