Later, I proved through practice that orchids, especially cymbidium, do not shade, under the strong light of the sun, only take some simple methods, still can raise potted orchids, I used these methods:

Method 1. Variety selection is exquisite

Raising orchids potted plants under strong light is limited. What I use is the orchid dug by farmers for planting. Don't test the greenhouse seedlings you bought in the greenhouse.

Method 2: The direction of the site should be ideal

Orchid field direction, the most ideal is to face east or southeast direction (the best northwest buildings or trees block), so that the morning sun can be basked in, noon can also be basked in for a while, and when the sun is west, because there are buildings or trees blocking, can play a certain shade around, I used to test the place, is rural, facing southeast direction, so that I planted orchid potted, a day, only a maximum of 6 hours can be basked in. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., these orchid leaves I raised did not appear large-scale burns and scorched phenomenon.

Method 3: Use plant materials and water with caution

Orchid cultivation under high temperature and strong light, planting materials should be more permeable to water. I mainly use fairy soil with good drainage and many elements as planting material. In the bottom layer of orchid pot planting material, in order to enhance drainage capacity, I specially went to rural farmers 'homes to find charcoal and cinder bottom (thickness is about 1/3 of pot height) with diameter of 2.5-3.0 cm, which is used to cultivate those jian orchids I bought. If rainwater is used up, add some edible acetic acid or ferrous sulfate to tap water instead.

Method 4: Create a good microclimate

I adapted to local conditions, local materials, in the rural open-air courtyard, with bricks set up more than 1 meter high Xiaolan platform. Use the old children's bath basin and ceramic basin filled with water as a basin, and then put a few boards on the basin surface, and then put the orchid basin on the plate surface, so that the bottom hole of the orchid basin is facing the water in the basin. In this way, as the water in the basin slowly evaporates, it can humidify the environment and increase the humidity. The hotter the weather, the higher the temperature, the faster the evaporation, the more obvious the effect of humidifying and cooling, creating a humid and cool environment. So that orchids in the external conditions (high temperature, strong sunlight) under the bad state (sometimes the temperature as high as 30℃), still grow well.

Method V: Regular spraying and fertilization

Orchids grow in the hot sun for a long time, easily contaminated germs, so it must be sterilized regularly. I give priority to prevention and treatment, spraying 4 times a month, once every 7-8 days. Drugs are methyl thiol-methyl bacteria, chlorothalonil, mancozeb, carbendazim, omethoate and so on. Regular fertilization is even more indispensable, 3 times a month fertilization, application of organic fertilizer (rapeseed bran fertilizer) and inorganic fertilizer (potassium dihydrogen phosphate).
