Change the way of watering

1. Cushion basin watering method: contrary to the ordinary watering method, put the flowerpot in a large clear water basin to make the water wet the soil through the bottom of the basin, which is good for preventing soil consolidation and good for root development, but the salt in the soil will rise with the water and accumulate on the soil surface and on the edge of the basin, easily damaging the nearby rhizome. Therefore, the watering of potted flowers should be carried out alternately by two methods: cushion basin watering and ordinary watering.

2. Sand column watering method: when putting flowers on or changing pots, first insert several hollow bamboo tubes or metal tubes in the empty basin, then fill the soil with compaction, then fill the empty pipe with coarse sand, and finally pull out the empty pipe, and the sand column is formed in the basin. The number of sand pillars depends on the size of the flowerpot. In the future, only water is watered at the sand column, so that the water spreads evenly to the surrounding basin soil through the sand column. this method can avoid soil consolidation and has no side effects on plant growth.

Reduce the use of hardened water

Tap water in the north is harder, that is, it contains more calcium, so it is necessary to use Rain Water or slightly acidic water to irrigate it.

1. Water the flowers with fermented Amoy rice water, or add one or two drops of rice vinegar to the water.

2. The rotten apple, Hawthorn, sour jujube, apricot and tomato are fermented in a container for a period of time to form acidified water. Direct watering or doubling of water when used can effectively prevent basin soil from alkaline hardening.

3. Apply raw fertilizer to the surface of the basin soil, solve the consolidation of the basin soil, loosen the surface of the basin soil, crush the uncooked cake fertilizer, poultry manure and so on into powder, and remove it evenly on the surface of the basin soil. Do not sprinkle too much, so that you can slightly see the basin soil, otherwise, the heat generated by fertilizer ripening will burn seedlings. Spray water in time after sprinkling to promote fermentation of raw fertilizer.

Using this method, on the one hand, after the dry fertilizer is fermented on the surface of the basin soil, the surface soil is also fermented, making the soil loose; on the other hand, the fermented nutrients are infiltrated with watering, so that the potted flower roots absorb sufficient nutrients. This method can not be used frequently, otherwise it is disadvantageous to the growth of flowers, and it is suitable to apply it once every 3-4 months.
