Now, fruits and vegetables not only grow well, but also have no seeds.

For some of the fruits we buy, they are seedless rather than undermature. With the improvement of breeding technology, more and more crops are seedless, the advantage of seedless is obvious, we can eat more aspects, such as watermelon, save spitting seeds, and watermelon taste more delicious.

On the topic of seedless, I have mentioned many times that in terms of the nature of seedless, it is just that human beings have made use of the physiological reproductive laws of plant cells to interfere with human beings. The following is a brief introduction to the principle of seedless.

About the emergence of seedless at present, there are two ways commonly used in agricultural production.

The first one makes use of the characteristics of triploid germ cell synapsis disorder to create a type of sterility. The most typical way is seedless watermelon and banana, but there is a slight difference between seedless watermelon and banana. Seedless watermelon does not exist naturally, while seedless watermelon is created by people.

Watermelons in nature are basically diploid, so it is difficult to create tetraploid watermelons. Here we need to mention one substance: colchicine, an alkaloid that doubles the chromosomes in meiotic cells. People take advantage of this feature to double diploid watermelons into tetraploid watermelons through colchicine, and then cross tetraploid watermelons with diploid ordinary watermelons. Triploid watermelons can be produced. And triploid sterility is also mentioned above.

The second way to produce seedless is to take advantage of the need for auxin stimulation in ovary development. In terms of ovary development, after the completion of double fertilization, the plant itself produces auxin, which stimulates ovary development. Naturally, such a process will produce seeds, which is not what we want, and people can also stimulate ovary expansion by using artificially prepared auxin to stimulate ovary development through flowers at flowering stage. this is the principle of seedless tomato production.

Presumably through the above introduction, we should have a more accurate understanding of seedless crops. For example, polyploid watermelons have more nutritional value, which is also the need for multiple sports in breeding, such as octaploid black wheat, which is not only strong, but also nutritious.
