Sowing and propagation with peat soil block did not expect that the survival rate was good.

Usually I use a nursery pot to sow and breed. These days, when I saw Hua you using a new seedling gadget, I bought some to test the effect. In fact, I tried to disassemble some seedling blocks. I found that the material inside was peat soil, with very little coconut bran and sawdust, and the weight was very light to see how effective the sowing was.

When sowing, poke a hole directly on it, water it and moisten it first, and then put the seeds in.

Sowing through the seedling block is still very simple, just put two or three seeds in a small seedling block, and the planting process is very simple. Keep the seedling block moist and the environment warm during maintenance, and it is even better to put a plastic cover on it. Simulating the environment of a greenhouse can promote seed germination.

After the spring is warm, you can start to sow and reproduce. Here I choose to put the seedling block on the seedling pot. Of course, there are drainage holes at the bottom, and the location is the south windowsill with proper light, which avoids excessive shading and is suitable for planting and raising seedlings.

In fact, these seedling blocks are made of compressed peat soil, that is, peat moss, so the weight is so light, there will be nutrients inside, which can appropriately promote the growth of seedlings, and these small seedling blocks will slowly expand after watering. It is also good for plant roots, and the nutrients inside will slowly seep out after watering.

And the outside of the seedling block is wrapped with a layer of mesh, in fact, this layer of net is made of some degraded materials, even if directly buried in the soil, it is a disposable seedling tool.

After the seedlings grow out, they can be transplanted after growing 3 or 4 true leaves, and the seedling blocks can be directly put into a larger basin soil, or buried directly in the yard.

After pouring water, the seedling block should not only be placed in a warm and ventilated place, but also need to be covered with a plastic cover at the top, which can maintain high temperature and humidity, promote seed germination and rooting faster, and help to improve the germination rate.

This kind of seedling block is suitable for propagating and cultivating all kinds of plants, can be used to sow seeds and raise seedlings, and can also be used as a small container for plant cutting.

Potted plants suitable for sowing and breeding include common plants such as butterfly, hollyhock, digitalis, zinnia, dahlia, daisy, perilla, Finch, parsley, oregano, mint, basil and coriander.

These are the small seedlings cultivated with seedling blocks. With the increase of watering times, they will be transplanted after growing to 3 or 4 true leaves. If they are planted in a new flowerpot, they will decompose themselves without removing the reticular cloth of the seedling blocks.

These seedling blocks are easy to expand, generally each small ball to add appropriate water, if the seedling block expansion is too large, it is necessary to pour out the excess water, the seedling block is best placed on a grid tray.

After sowing and breeding with a seedling block, you need to make a label on it so that you don't forget what plant it is, record the name of the plant seed, mark it during cultivation, and then insert it directly to the side, and then you don't have to worry about confusion in the later stage of maintenance.

There are about three seeds in each seedling block, and the seeds can be sprinkled evenly on it, which can ensure that a small seedling can grow in each seedling block.

I like to plant all kinds of herbs, such as Pansy, Corydalis, Perilla and coriander, etc., after planting, they should be placed in a warm and ventilated position with appropriate scattered light, but avoid direct sunlight.

Keep warm during maintenance, keep the seedling block expanding and avoid excessive drought, the seedling block itself has better water retention capacity and does not need frequent watering.

In addition, pay attention to the cover, can maintain humidity and temperature, help to promote seed germination, see the small seedlings should be lifted the cover.

Be careful not to overwater, it has a good water retention capacity, when there is water is dark brown, if the seedling block becomes light brown, you need to replenish water in time.

After 1 week or 2 weeks, the seed sprouts slowly. Once the seed germinates, lift the lid at the top and give it appropriate scattered light to avoid excessive shade and let it grow slowly.

Most of the seeds in the seedling basin have grown out, and many seedlings have grown in some seedling blocks, which are overcrowded. At this time, proper seedlings are needed to keep the seedlings that grow strong.

Appropriate seedlings can promote growth, seedlings also need appropriate gaps to grow, in order to maintain the surrounding air circulation, seedlings grow dense is easy to be infected with fungal diseases, easy to lodge.

For some seedlings that are too dense, I will separate them directly with tweezers, and then carefully replenish water, usually adding water from the tray, allowing it to slowly absorb water from the bottom and slowly soak the basin.

After the seedlings grow out, you should avoid watering too frequently, otherwise it is easy to black rot and lodge. If you give the seedlings a little light, you can move them to the south-facing windowsill and give them proper light every day to maintain a certain degree of environmental humidity. if you find that the seedling block becomes light brown, you should replenish it with water.

Special care should be taken in seedling cultivation to avoid direct sunlight or excessive exposure. Beginners can choose flower cultivation that is easy to germinate, such as basil, cilantro, zinnia, sunflower, oregano and parsley, which are particularly easy to germinate, and the seedlings will grow well.

The seedlings of the seedling block can be transplanted after growing 3 or 4 true leaves, and the whole seedling block can be moved directly to a new environment, and the seedling block can be directly placed in the flowerpot, properly covered with soil and watered through, and then placed in a position with appropriate scattered light to slowly increase the light.

These are the flower seedlings cultivated in the seedling pot, mainly herbaceous flowers, the germination rate is also very high, and the growth condition of the seedlings is similar to that of the seedlings, but it is not so convenient when transplanting.

Summary:

It is very convenient to sow and propagate with seedling blocks, which is very suitable for beginners to propagate flowers. It is easy to manage seedlings after they grow out and survive after transplanting, because the steps of digging up and transplanting seedlings are removed and the seedling blocks are directly buried in potted soil.
