Last Updated: 2024/11/08, Since the succulent plant began to spend the summer, many flower friends have come to ask for help every day: how did my succulent plant lose its leaves, how it shrunk, and how did it shrink?) Oh, you haven't even figured out what succulent plant is, how can you let it live through the summer?

1. Sunburn

Ultraviolet rays are strong in summer and succulent plants are prone to sunburn. Especially at 1-2 o'clock every afternoon, when the sun is strongest, succulent plants are quickly burned by the sun, making it difficult to recover.

Solution: shading

The succulent plants raised by dew or south balconies and windowsills are not a long-term solution to move around in and out of the house when the sun is strong. It is best to shade, and a small sunshade net can be done.

2. Suffocation

Succulent in summer, leaf respiration is weakened, mainly by the root system to breathe, if you use the soil is not breathable enough, it is likely to suffocate it!

Solution: change the soil

Soil can still be changed in summer, so be careful not to hurt the roots. Coconut bran soil and granular soil are relatively breathable soils, and they can also be mixed with turquoise, Maifan stone, volcanic stone and so on to keep moisture and air permeable.

3. Steam to death

The summer heat wave is like a steamer for succulent plants, which is steamed easily. Not only that, but improper watering will also steam succulent plants to death.

Solution: put it in a ventilated environment and pay attention to the watering time.

Balconies, windowsills, corridors and other ventilated places are most suitable for succulent plants. They are hot everywhere in summer, but they are not ventilated, and moisture cannot be evaporated or absorbed, and they are steamed every minute.

Dormant succulent plants should be watered less in summer, not without watering. Watering should also be done in the morning (before 9 o'clock) and in the evening (after 7 o'clock) when the temperature is relatively low. At other times, the temperature of the flowerpot is so high that the water poured in becomes hot

Die of thirst

Dormant succulent plants grow slowly, but after all, they are still growing, so necessary moisture is necessary, not to mention the hot weather, rapid evaporation, and soon wrinkled leaves.

Solution: watering with a small amount of water

If your succulent leaves wrinkle easily, it's not obviously dormant. It is found that the leaves are wrinkled and water quickly, or in the morning and evening, not too much at a time.

5. Starve to death

Succulent plants, like most green leafy plants, absorb carbon dioxide from the air for photosynthesis. In summer, the temperature is high, the movement of meat is slower and slower, more and more "hungry", and finally weakens.

Solution: put it in a ventilated place, or manual ventilation

A ventilated environment can keep succulent plants alive. If you can't find any ventilated place, give succulent plants a small fan. Be careful not to get too close.

6. Bite to death

Don't think that there will be no insects in summer. on the contrary, in summer, there are not only succulent natural enemies: scale insects, but also other small black flies flying around succulent plants.

Solution: manual removal, alcohol insecticidal

Succulent is relatively small, you can wipe the leaves of long insects with cotton swabs with alcohol (concentration 60%), which can kill not only insects but also bacteria.

7. Black death

Summer is really a period of succulent black rot. I don't know which day it will suddenly die of black rot. Black rot is mostly rotten roots, and Huahua has said many times about the treatment of succulent rotten roots.

Solution: ventilation and water control; avoid infection

If you want to prevent rotten roots from black rot, you must give succulent plants a ventilated environment, and do not water too much, otherwise it will be muggy and humid, no wonder it is not rotten! In addition, once you find the leaves with black spots, remove them quickly to avoid infection.

8. Heat death

When it comes to summer, even people are hot, not to mention a small piece of meat. Different from the natural environment, domestic succulent plants are planted in small pots, which are heated quickly, and succulent plants are more likely to die of heat!

Solution: tubing method

In addition to moving the succulent plant to a cool and ventilated place, you can also put a large flowerpot (preferably a pottery pot) outside the succulent pot, which is not "adding clothes", but to enhance thermal insulation and prevent the meat from being spoiled by heat.

9. Toss to death

Meat breeders are nervous in the summer, changing places, watering and turning on the air conditioner are all succulent.

Solution: timely observation and improvisation

Huahua feels that the succulent situation in every household is different, so we must "prescribe the right medicine to the case". Succulent plants prefer a stable environment, so don't mess around blindly, just improvise.

I hope everyone's succulent plants can escape the "nine deaths".

Have a smooth summer
