When cutting azaleas, you can choose some semi-lignified branches that are born in the same year, water them directly and wait for them to take root in a place of astigmatism. In fact, rhododendrons and camellias have similar cutting methods.

After the cuckoo blossoms, the new branches growing in the axils of the leaves of the residual flowers are the most suitable for cutting. when the branches are a little stiff, they can be cut off directly.

For cutting soil, we can use plain soil cutting, such as river sand, perlite, vermiculite, etc., or we can use soil cutting directly, but the soil must be loose and breathable.

The cutting soil I often use is made by myself, using rotten leaf soil dug out, large grains of river sand, and mixed with some garden soil, at 2:1:1.

Every year, a lot of young azaleas are cut, the soil is placed in a broken washbasin, watered thoroughly, the branches are inserted, and then a large plastic bag is used to cover the basin, with several holes in the bag for ventilation.

Put it in a place with good astigmatism and ventilation, every four or five days, ventilate again, pour water once, and cover it again. After this repetition for about a month or so, the cuckoo will take root and sprout, and can gradually receive light.

The seedlings of these newly cut rhododendrons grow very fast. These are their own cuttings, and they can blossom in the next year.
