Bananas and pineapples are reported to have fallen in price, and it is even rumored that the purchase price of bananas is only one yuan per kilogram. " Chen Jizhong, vice chairman of the Council of Agriculture, said at a press conference yesterday (31) that since last month, five major measures have been put forward to eliminate special bananas, so as to reduce the quantity of bananas in the market and stabilize prices. At the same time, they actively promote bananas of better quality and expand export. It is expected that the auction price of Bei Nong will rise from 10 yuan per kilogram yesterday to over 12 yuan today.

Chen Jizhong: five mechanisms to stabilize prices

As the bananas from the place of origin are sent to the auction market, it requires ripening, packaging, transportation and other fees, and the cost is about 6 yuan. Chen Jizhong points out that the average price of bananas and bananas in the producing area is 4 to 5 yuan, which is now purchased through expanded channels and exported, and purchased in a way that is more than ten yuan better than the land price, so as to stabilize the price of bananas. Pineapple is also driven by export. At present, the producing area price has rebounded to 15 yuan per kilogram, which is 7.4 yuan higher than the production cost.

The estimated output of bananas in spring and summer this year is 190000 9026 metric tons. Chen Jizhong said that the output is 1% lower than that of last year, mainly because the climate is stable, and the number of spring bananas has increased significantly. As long as the spring bananas are solved, prices will certainly be stable.

Therefore, in April, the Council of Agriculture also launched five major mechanisms to deal with it, including expanding channel dealers and volume stores to promote 4000 metric tons, providing guidance to processors to increase the purchase of bananas, subsidizing processing fees of two yuan per kilogram, for a total of 2000 metric tons, and encouraging enterprises to purchase 2000 metric tons of banana specialties. Since June 8, 12 metric tons of bananas have been exported to Dubai in the Middle East every week for 10 consecutive weeks, totaling 120 metric tons, and the purchase price is not less than 12 yuan per kilogram.

Export of pineapple increased by 9% compared with last year.

In the pineapple section, the estimated output this year is 578,604 metric tons, an increase of 5% over last year. The main peak period is from March to June. At present, the harvest progress is 80% to 90% in Gaoping area and 40% to 50% in the central region. Chen Jizhong said that it was completely wrong to question that pineapples were not being exported. As of May 30 this year, 29703 metric tons had been exported, an increase of 9% over the same period last year. At present, the wholesale price of pineapple has stabilized.

Agricultural company: banana seed scramble leads to bitter fruit

However, Chen Jizhong stressed that the above measures are only short-term measures and should be viewed from a long-term goal, such as setting up an "integrated inquiry platform for fruit and vegetable production and marketing information" to provide information on the supply and demand of crops such as pineapple, cabbage, and cabbage. However, even if the information is disclosed, we still have to return to farmers' planting behavior. Farmers rush for seeds and cause bananas to explode? Weng Zhenyi, chief secretary of the Agriculture and Food Administration, points out, "there is no seed rush, and most farmers have staggered the delivery date!" Bananas are annual crops. From January to April last year, banana prices were good, and more banana seedlings were sold, but there was a low price period in May. In general, few people bought banana seedlings from May to September, and banana seedlings were harvested from January to April, emphasizing that "there is no sale this year because of the hot weather."

Chen Jizhong: long-term income insurance, complete cold chain to solve the problem

Bananas are prone to an imbalance in production and marketing. Chen Jizhong points out that in order to solve the fundamental problem, we must introduce farmers' long-term income insurance, as long as we cooperate with the government in seedling registration, production and marketing resume, organic, and so on, a certain amount of income can be guaranteed. In the long run, there is no need to spend so much effort on production and marketing regulation and disaster compensation, not only for bananas, but also actively deal with garlic, onions and so on.

In addition, Taiwan lacks a complete cold chain system and is relatively inelastic in regulation. Chen Chi-Chung says that if the cold chain system is established, bananas can be refrigerated first. Therefore, the Council of Agriculture also expects to build a cold chain system in Taoyuan, Changhua, and Pingtung. The fastest Pingtung Science and Technology Park can have large-scale cold storage equipment of more than 1500 ping, plus cold storage equipment of various farmers' groups. If a complete cold chain system is established, "bananas and onions can be solved, and prices will be maintained at a certain level."

Garlic merchants say in person that excessive inventory of imported garlic is a fake, and the impact of international garlic prices on local garlic prices is the main reason.
