With regard to the pruning of plants, it is very important to choose the right time. Generally speaking, we will judge according to the growth stage of the plant, but the growth habits and the division of growth stages of each kind of plant are different. How to prune the tree?

1. Pruning before flowering

Generally, the branches and buds are pruned before flowering, and the way of coring is taken.

Pick the heart, is to remove the top flower branches, so as to promote the growth of more lateral branches, so as to produce more flowers.

Early plucking is beneficial to early shaping and flowering. After picking the heart, three new buds with similar height and suitable position will be selected to ensure the smooth opening of the flowers.

2. Pruning when paulownia blossoms

After flowering, if the leaves around the flowers hinder the normal growth of the flowers, you can cut off all or half of the leaves according to the actual situation and needs.

Pruning the leaves in this way can make all the flowers bloom at the top of the plant, forming a bouquet, and the ornamental effect will be better.

The pruned paulownia can produce up to 18 flowers at a time. Among them, a large paulownia cultivated in a 12 cm flowerpot is no more than 15 cm in height and has only 2 branches, that is, 16 flowers bloom at the same time, which is very beautiful.

3. Pruning after flowering

After flowering, if the cultivated soil is fertile and properly managed, it will pull out the second batch of buds.

After flowering, if there is no need to keep seeds, it is best to cut off the flower stem and control the loss of nutrients, which is conducive to the continued flowering and tuber growth and development.

After flowering, enter the winter, to keep the tuber of Caulownia, select a section of leafless stem, the length is about 3 ℃ 4 cm, to store sand in time, keep the temperature not lower than 5 ℃.

During the overwintering period, the sandy soil should not be too wet, otherwise the corms will rot. If the sandy soil is too dry, spray an appropriate amount of water to prevent stem dryness. When spring is warm and flowers bloom, the tubers of paulownia will sprout and leave new buds as needed to enter a new round of maintenance and pruning.
