This cypress bonsai is made by a famous bonsai master named Shig Miya in California. It is a high-striped seedling, and the only branch above is also grafted. The rest of the original branches were made into dead wood and probably died of natural causes. The dead wood carvings on the trunk try to imitate the effects of long-term decay and moth-eating. And this falling branch is very long, as long as the whole tree, and it took a lot of effort to make it.

Later, it was bought by one of the bonsai master's clients. after a simple discussion, the two felt that the falling branch was too long to reflect the characteristics of the dead wood, so they cut it short. After a year of maintenance, it became the effect of the following picture.

I personally think that after cutting it is better than before, this kind of treatment makes the branches and leaves look fuller, not as slender as before. The three branches stretching to the left are hidden, indeed showing the characteristics of the dead wood to the maximum extent.
