Enteritis, also known as bacterial enteritis or rotten intestinal distemper, is a digestive tract infectious disease of many kinds of fish caused by Aeromonas aerogenes. Mainly eating unclean feed or overeating, intestinal fullness, blocked excretion, water pollution, resulting in the decline of disease resistance of fish, the large number of bacteria in the intestines can lead to disease outbreaks. Among the ornamental fish, goldfish, colorful fairy fish, peacock fish, koi and Luohan fish all have a precedent of infection. The epidemic began when the water temperature was above 18 ℃, and the epidemic peak was when the water temperature was 25-30 ℃.

I. pathogen

The pathogen of enteritis is Aeromonas punctata. Gram staining was negative and the colonies produced brown pigment and translucency after cultured on Agar medium for 1 to 2 days. The suitable growth temperature is 25 ℃, and more than 60 ℃ can kill the pathogen, but if the breeding water temperature is above 60 degrees, basically sprinkle some salt to cook the fish.

Second, main symptoms

The diseased fish showed dull, slow action, isolation from the group, loss of appetite, blackening of the fish body, and the head and caudal fin were more significant. In the late stage, the fish will float on the water above the head and tail, the abdomen is dilated, the anus is red and swollen, protruding, diarrhea, feces are white; severe day fin base hyperemia, abdominal erythema. Open the abdomen of the fish, it can be seen that the abdominal cavity is hydrops, the intestinal wall is congested and inflamed, only part of the intestine is red in light cases, and in severe cases, the whole intestine is purplish red, and there is no food in the intestines filled with yellowish mucus and blood pus.

Third, how to diagnose enteritis?

The disease is characteristic, according to the intestinal congestion and redness of the diseased fish, especially the obvious intestinal segment, anal redness, protrusion, and a lot of yellowish mucus in the intestinal cavity can be diagnosed preliminarily.

IV. Preventive measures

1. Strengthen feeding and management

The occurrence of enteritis was caused by excessive change of feed quantity, sudden change of feed variety, decrease of oxygen content in water, pollution of water quality, moving fish after satiety, feeding unclean feed and so on. Therefore, it is necessary to feed clean feed, eat more and less, adhere to quantitative, qualitative, positioning, regular ten-dose feeding, remove fish feces and excess residual bait in time, disinfect the water quality regularly, keep the water quality clean and increase the amount of dissolved oxygen, it plays an important role in the prevention of this disease.

2. Regular drug prevention

In the season when the temperature changes greatly in early spring and late autumn, the food soaked in water such as norfloxacin and allicin is fed once.

V. treatment

It is found that enteritis occurs in fish and is treated by the combination of internal administration and topical use.

(1) the diseased fish should stop eating for 1-2 days, keep the water temperature unchanged, and change the water once a day to ensure clear water quality.

Clean, or raise sick fish alone.

(2) use external medicine to disinfect the water body, generally sprinkling 1 gram of bleach per cubic meter of water in the whole pool to purify the water body.

(3) to kill the pathogen of fish with internal medicine, norfloxacin, allicin and other baits can be mixed or fed.

(4) if the fish can no longer eat, you can take a medicine bath. Use gentamicin, oxytetracycline and so on in medicine bath. It can also be treated by intramuscular or intraperitoneal injection of gentamicin, kanamycin and penicillin.

VI. Matters needing attention in diagnosis and treatment

A preliminary diagnosis can be made according to symptoms and prevalence, but attention should be paid to the difference from the following diseases

(1) Food poisoning

Food poisoning diseased fish, while the intestinal wall is congested, there is a large amount of food in the intestine, and a large number of fish that eat the same kind of feed suddenly die.

(2) Red skin disease

Red skin disease sometimes the intestinal tract is congested and inflamed, but the main symptoms are on the body surface, local or most of the skin inflammation, bleeding, scales falling off. The skin scales of simple enteritis disease fish are intact.
