For the first time, Taiwan Sea Environmental Soundscape Map is included! The Kuroshio Marine Cultural and Educational Foundation celebrates its 20th anniversary. This year, it plans a 14-day "island voyage plan" to circle Taiwan (including Penghu, Xiaoliuqiu and Orchid Island), enter and exit 12 fishing ports, and conduct "plastic particles","underwater sound" and "dissolved oxygen in water quality" sampling tests at 47 measuring points along the way, leaving the first complete record of the marine status of Taiwan's "blue land".

Circling Taiwan, Establishing Blue Land Survey Data

The Kuroshio Marine Cultural and Educational Foundation held a press conference on the 29th, announcing that it would launch a round-the-clock tour of Taiwan on the 30th of tomorrow, sailing from Hualien Port and circling Taiwan counterclockwise for one week. Chang Hui-chun, chief executive officer of the Kuroshio Marine Cultural and Educational Foundation, further explains that this year, three research indicators have been made during the voyage."This is an important goal of this voyage. We must answer the current situation of Taiwan's marine environment before we can make policy recommendations." Therefore, we will make a round trip around Taiwan to do investigation and establish the first blue land survey data.

The three indicators include "plastic particles","underwater sound" and "dissolved oxygen in water quality". As regards "plastic particles", Zhang explained that in recent years, people have become more and more concerned about whether plastic particles are contained in food, including fish, shellfish and shrimp in the ocean. Therefore, we can understand the state of marine life through testing. In the part of "dissolved oxygen in water quality", as dissolved oxygen is related to the quality of water, testing the water quality of different sea areas and recording the dissolved oxygen value can become the core information for future research on water quality.
