It is now the end of May, but the south is already a furnace day, the weather is not generally hot, but especially hot, this time of the rose, is also very afraid of heat, so to shave their heads, let them cool, not to mention summer flowers, at least autumn will definitely give you a grand slam.

Why do you shave your head in summer? 1) The need for ventilation. Summer weather is relatively hot, after spring growth, rose branches are more lush, dense, ventilation has become a problem, plus summer rain is more, it is easy to form a sultry environment, bacteria reproduce fastest at this time, if not treated in time, it is very easy to cause leaf spot disease, powdery mildew, withered branches yellow leaves and so on.

2. The need for new buds. Compared to other seasons, summer is the time when roses grow slowly, that is, dormant or semi-dormant. This is the time for roses to accumulate nutrients and prepare for the next season's flowering, so properly prune old, sick, residual, dense branches.

At the same time, before the rose enters the dormant period, it is necessary to irrigate fertilizer once, preferably with organic fertilizer, rich and balanced nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium content, in order to promote the rose to absorb nutrients, prepare for the next flower bud and flowering, but the fertilizer should not be too thick, it is best to use ecologically safe organic fertilizer, diluted 800 times, once every two weeks. May is the peak season for rose growth, and it is also the peak season for flowering, which consumes most of the nutrients, and the flowering flowers will also cause nutrient loss. At this time, if you want to sprout new buds, in addition to supplementing nutrition, you should do appropriate pruning to promote bud germination.

Summer rose pruning method: healthy rose plants, in summer pruning, can be roughly divided into the following three steps: 1, plastic pruning mainly too long, or different lengths of branches cut neatly, generally to cut off 1/3 of the plant, so that the whole plant looks more symmetrical.

2. Trim the branches that have been shaped by thin branches, and properly trim the thin branches. After the pruning, we also need to trim the small branches that cannot bloom. Generally, the large-flowered roses are trimmed to pencil thickness (8-10mm in diameter), the medium-flowered varieties are trimmed to a little thinner than disposable chopsticks (5-6mm in diameter), and the floret varieties are trimmed to a little thicker than toothpicks (3-4mm in diameter).

3. Trim the inner bore branches, strengthen internal ventilation, trim the inward growing rose branches slightly, so that the inner bore of the plant can be ventilated, and then supplement some organic fertilizer. It must be light fertilizer, and use thick fertilizer in summer. The rose must be dead.
