I believe that many friends have heard or have the experience of growing vegetables on their own balcony, growing vegetables in their own balcony, both safe and green without pollution, and rest assured to eat. Now this season, I believe that many friends have grown vegetables such as tomatoes and cucumbers on their balconies. Today, I would like to share with you a tip for growing tomatoes on the balcony and making them hang all over the branches.

1. Tips on watering tomatoes

Watering tomatoes is really skillful, not just a casual watering. First of all, during the seedling period of tomato growth, we should pay attention to keep the soil moist and not make it too dry or too waterlogged. It has been maintained until the late seedling stage and flowering stage of tomatoes, and when small fruits are grown, less watering should be controlled, and less water should be watered as much as possible without causing the plant to lack water and wilt. When the tomato fruit has a fruit period the size of a walnut, as the second wave of young fruit begins to grow, the amount of water should be increased at this time.

During this period, we should pay attention to observe the situation of the basin soil in each period, keep the soil moist, timely watering if the advantage is dry, and pay attention to watering thoroughly.

2. Fertilize tomatoes

In order to make the fruit grow bigger, the tomato should be fertilized in time, and the fertilizer can be used with organic nutrient solution for fruits and vegetables. When the tomato ear is the size of a walnut, it is necessary to top fertilizer for the first time, which can not only promote the growth of the fruit, but also will not cause falling flowers and fruits. After that, you can apply fertilizer every half a month or so. Usually fertilize 4 times is OK.

3. Loosen the soil for tomatoes

After watering tomatoes, if it is found that the pot soil has become dry and non-sticky, loosen the soil, generally from the seedling stage to before flowering and fruiting, loose soil can promote tomato germination and differentiation. Loosening the soil can also reduce the loss of water, and at the same time ensure that there is no shortage of water in the growth of seedlings.

4. Prune the tomatoes

When the tomato is growing, the branches and leaves are very exuberant and there will be a lot of branches. If the tomato is not pruned at this time, it will cause the loss of nutrients. Therefore, it is necessary to prune the tomato properly. Generally, when the lateral bud grows to about 4-7 cm, it can be removed. Just keep two spikes and leave two leaves on top of the second and pick the heart.
