It will soon enter June-the heyday of gardenia, but many gardenia raised by flower friends are still in yellow leaves and buds. Today Huahua will share with you how to solve the three keys of gardenia!

Crucial 1Mui-yellow leaves, what to do?

During the maintenance of gardenia in summer, the leaves are most prone to yellowing, wilting and scorching. There are three main reasons: water yellow, fat yellow and iron deficiency.

Water yellow

Performance: from the bottom to the top, the old leaves were yellow first, followed by the new leaves, and the veins gradually turned yellow.

Reasons: 1, watering too often, stagnant water; 2, pot soil is too wet and sticky, flowerpot permeability is poor; 3, the bottom leaves are too dense, not ventilated.

Solution: put gardenia in a cool and ventilated place, trim too dense and long branches and leaves to increase air permeability. If the root system has rotted, you should immediately change the soil to change the basin, choose a good permeability of the mud basin.

Fat yellow

Performance: old leaves and veins first yellow, gradually the whole piece yellowing.

Solution: when there is fat yellow, it is necessary to change the water bubble basin many times, or long flow of fine water to irrigate the root for about half an hour, dilute the excessive fertilizer in the soil.

Iron deficiency

Performance: iron deficiency yellowing is a yellowing disease, the leaf is yellowish or white-green, the vein is still green, the whole leaf is yellowish white, even dry and shedding.

Solution: when iron deficiency, spray retting alum fertilizer or 0.1% ferrous sulfate.

Key 2: wilting, how to do?

The big-leaf gardenia just bought from the greenhouse or flower market is most likely to wilt the leaves, mainly because the leaves are large and dense, the air humidity is too small, and the water transpiration is too fast.

Solution: gardenia needs greater air humidity, first trim the dense branches and leaves, and then spray around the leaves 2 or 3 times a day to keep moist.

Key 3: drop the bud, what to do?

Potted gardenias are most likely to drop flowers in the summer bud stage.

Solutions: 1, the flower bud stage watering, do not spray the bud; 2, the flower bud stage must not change the basin, easy to hurt the root system; 3, when the soil is alkaline, you can spray the mixture of diluted vinegar and ferrous sulfate.

Maintenance skills of Gardenia jasminoides

1. Soil

Gardenia depends on acidic soil with strong air permeability and good drainage, general pine needle soil, rotten leaf soil, and mixed fine sand and stone.

2, watering: gardenia likes moist air, avoid accumulation of waterlogging, watering in accordance with the principle of dry and wet, when the summer temperature is high, the basin soil can be shallowly watered to damp, do not need large water to penetrate.

3. Lighting: gardenia is a strong positive flower, which has high requirements for light and ventilation, maintaining 50%-60% southward light every day to avoid strong direct light; gardenia jasminoides climb above 30 in temperature and must be shaded 50% outdoors, or in the morning and evening. Shade at noon.

4. Fertilization: gardenia likes fertilizer, but all newly raised gardenia do not apply any fertilizer. After slow seedling stage, fertilizers such as bean cake, sesame sauce residue, peanut bran or potassium dihydrogen phosphate are applied every 1-2 weeks. No fertilizer was applied when it was above 35 ℃ in summer and below 15 ℃ in autumn.

In addition, watering gardenia with thoroughly fermented rice water and pericarp water can not only increase nutrients, but also soften the soil, adjust acid, and do no harm to flowering.

5. Pruning: during the peak growth period from May to July, it is necessary to prune the overgrown branches at the top and the overdense and thin branches at the bottom to increase ventilation. After the bud grows, there are 2-3 for each thick branch, 1 for the weak branch, and cut off all the rest of the bud and the surrounding idle leaves; after the flower fades, the old leaves of the remnant flowers, withered branches and the lower part of the flower branches are trimmed.
