A cactus that can be boldly touched? Let's get to know it.
Many people's first impression of cacti is that they have a lot of thorns and stick to their hands. Many small partners have also raised cacti. When I was a child, I also raised it on the balcony at home. In my impression, it was a kind of cheap plant. It was placed in the corner of the balcony for a long time. It was not easy to die if I forgot to water it.
In recent years, with the rise of Nordic wind, cacti have gradually become net red plants, prices have also risen. Some flower shops, restaurants, clothing stores, homestays and even everyone's home can see cactus and its relatives.
The artist we are going to introduce today has created a series of oil paintings inspired by cacti, and has positioned the name of the work "Touch" in a very "humanized" way.
Kwangho Lee
Kwangho Lee, one of South Korea's realist artists, noticed that cacti were riddled with tiny thorns and wanted to create cacti that could be touched.
Artist Kwangho Lee's cactus is lifelike, giving the illusion that it is a photographic work or a post-processed photograph.
The cactus in the picture is larger than the real one, about 8 feet (about 20 centimeters). Every tiny thorn, flower, branch is extremely accurate, and the smallest elements are in focus.
Kwangho Lee's artistic style, applied to large opaque canvases. This gives the work a higher level of color, making them more powerful. The colors are vivid and become an advanced form of realism. Let's enjoy the artist's recent works and past masterpieces!
Perhaps you will think that in today's modern photography PS technology is so developed, painting this kind of super-realism is not meaningless. But realism is only a way of expressing painting, Kwangho Lee wants to express the extension between art and vision.
The strange thing about cacti is that you really want to touch them, touch these strange, sharp, fluffy, fuzzy-looking images.

Works on display and touched
Kwangho Lee graduated from Seoul National University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a Master of Fine Arts degree. He was selected as a resident artist in Changdong in 2006. In his early work, he often liked to observe small objects in daily life, feel their world, and find some connection between his heart and these insignificant things.
So he likes to photograph an object and draw it. The goal is to reveal and dramatize these subtle connections.
Details of the painting
Kwangho Lee's paintings are not particularly beautiful or nostalgic, but upon closer inspection and magnification, the depicted objects actually disappear, leaving only a layer of paint composed of numerous strokes and knife marks.
We're surrounded by all kinds of tiny objects.
stamens, bubbles, moths
