Rose, colorful and varied, can blossom many times a year. However, raising rose is indeed a very troublesome thing. If you want to bloom, you have to constantly wipe buds, pick buds and prune them. And mastering this "one wipe, one pick and one cut" is the secret of the rose explosion.

"one wipe" is the sprout.

Spring for the growth of overdense rose buds, do not be reluctant to give up, ruthlessly remove in time, a main branch only need to leave 2 or 3 buds. When picking buds, you should first wipe off the buds that grow inward and will produce buds across the middle.

Pick buds as soon as you pick them

For the variously fragrant rose with single flowering, the lateral buds can be removed and only one main bud in the middle can be retained. On the other hand, for the rose varieties with multiple flowers, the main buds and overdense buds can be removed to concentrate the florescence. Miniature roses do not pick buds and let them grow naturally.

For young rose plants, when small flower buds are formed for the first time in spring, buds should be picked to accumulate nutrients to promote the development of new branches. At the same time, need to replenish nutrients to the rose, you can use rose special organic nutrient solution, mixed with water 500 times, irrigated every 7 days to promote nutrient supply, rose growth better.

"one cut" to trim the remnant flowers

Raise the rose, but also get rid of the residual flowers in time. Cut off the residual flowers immediately after the rose blossoms. It is usually counted down from the flowers, cut about 0.5 cm above the compound leaves of the second leaflet, cut off the upper branches and residual flowers, and retain the axillary buds of the second compound leaves, allowing them to pull out new branches. But do not cut off too long pedicels, because cut off too many branches and leaves, which is detrimental to the growth of the plant.

Pruning of potted rose during dormancy is best done at the end of dormancy and when axillary buds begin to swell. Flower friends in the south suggest pruning from the first and middle of January to the end of February, while flower friends in the north suggest pruning from February to the end of March.

In addition, dormant pruning is very important for more than two-year-old roses. It is mainly to cut off withered branches, disease and insect branches, cross branches, thin and weak branches and native branches that germinate after autumn.
