Hydrangea, as its name implies, is plump and round like hydrangea, with large and beautiful flowers, elegant and beautiful colors, which are pleasing to the eye. Often used as potted plants or garden ornamental flowers and trees are widely planted. However, hydrangea is very demanding to the environment, and many people do not know how to raise hydrangea. Today, the editor introduces some breeding methods of hydrangea, so that friends who like hydrangea know how to raise hydrangea.

Culture methods of hydrangea:

1. Soil:

Hydrangea is suitable for acid soil with loose and fertile, good drainage and rich humus. The flower color is affected by soil acidity and alkalinity. If the flower is acidic, the flower is blue, and the alkaline flower is red. With the change of soil acid and base, the flower color can change from white to red and blue, which can be adjusted by acidic aluminum sulfate or alkaline lime.

2. Watering:

Hydrangea likes to be wet and is afraid of waterlogging. Generally keep the basin soil moist, and follow the principle of dryness and re-watering. It is hot in summer, according to the situation of the basin soil, water is watered twice a day, and the air can spray water to the leaves when the air is dry; when the growth is stagnant in winter, it is better to keep the basin soil relatively dry; reduce the watering times in the rainy season, and pay attention to drainage to prevent rotting roots caused by waterlogging.

3. Lighting:

Hydrangea flowers like light, avoid exposure, can be placed in the balcony semi-shady or brightly lit indoor cultivation, while paying attention to ventilation. Avoid the situation that the environment is too overcast or the small plants in the basin are too large to cause withered and yellow leaves and not easy to blossom.

4. Temperature:

Hydrangea can not bear high temperature, the warmer temperature is suitable for growth, the suitable temperature is 15-25 ℃, especially in summer to keep ventilated and cool. Winter climate is cold, we should pay attention to cold prevention, the lowest temperature is not less than 5 ℃.

5. Pruning:

In the seedling stage, the heart can be removed twice to promote branching. Usually the withered and yellow leaves at the base of the flower branches should be cut off in time. If there are too many new branches, you can prune some too dense and weak branches. After the flower fades, you can cut short branches, but not too much, cut off the branches that grow in the same year, and do not cut off the branches that grow flower buds, so as to blossom next year. The plants can be re-pruned before changing pots in spring, leaving only 4 nodes for each branch, which is beneficial to the germination of new branches.
