What is resale grass? According to page 372 of the Ancient and Modern Chinese Dictionary, "resale" refers to "returning the product to the place of origin for sale". Therefore, it is generally accepted that Japan, South Korea and Taiwan are collectively referred to as resale grass for the rapid propagation of orchids introduced from the mainland of China and then returned to the mainland for sale.

Due to the use of high-tech means, such as tissue culture, greenhouse, hormone, chemical fertilizer, etc., to automatically control light, temperature, humidity, gas and so on, orchid production has achieved industrial rapid growth and reproduction, although it is the same original species, the variety has not changed, but the characteristics of orchids have changed significantly. Just like the pork and chicken we eat in our daily life, if we use feed, hormones and other cages to accelerate ripening, its nutritional taste is obviously not as good as that of coarse-raised native pigs and chickens. Therefore, resale grass has obviously different characteristics. First, the tissue cells are weak. The leaves are longer and wider, but the leaves are thinner, and the orchid seedlings are elegant, but they also appear delicate. Second, the tissues and organs are weak. The pseudocorm is smaller and the root is slender and fragile. Some roots are black, but there are few "crystal head roots". Because of its multi-use granular plant cultivation, so multi-bow bending. Third, there are many latent diseases. The resale grass has gone through packaging, extrusion, distribution and resale, and those that have not been sold have to be stored and sold again. After several twists and turns, infection with germs on the way is inevitable. Fourth, adaptability and resistance become worse. Because of its multi-use hormone to promote growth, nutritional growth is too fast, nutrition "overdraft" too much, it is easy to rot the root, difficult to take the basin. Even if it is planted, it is easy to sprout to seedlings, but it is difficult to rejuvenate to see flowers and compound flowers. Even if you see the flowers, the fragrance of the flowers is light but not faint. Therefore, Lanyou, who has introduced resale grass, all feel that it is really difficult to raise.

So, how can we cultivate resale grass? So far, there doesn't seem to be a monograph on the art of resale grass cultivation (perhaps I am ill-informed). However, according to my purchase and collection of more than 50 orchid books, many of them have been introduced and discussed in this regard. For example, "tips for planting resale grass", Anhui Xu Bing (Yifeng), "it is not difficult to raise resale grass" Shanghai Li Fengnian (Muzi), "deficiency of resale grass" Jiangsu Wanyunkun (Guoxiangju) "orchid small experience tips"; "maintenance of resale grass" Zhejiang Shouji into "one hundred tips for orchid cultivation", "adaptability cultivation of resale seedlings" Zhejiang Shi Meigen "orchid cultivation experience". In addition, books such as the practical Treasure Book of Orchid cultivation, the skills of Orchid cultivation in Taiwan, and the National Orchid appreciation cultivation and introduction Investment 202 all have some paragraphs or special introductions.

Based on the above materials of orchid books and my own experience in planting and raising resale grass, the author thinks that in order to grow resale grass well, the following points must be done: first, the environmental conditions suitable for the growth of resale grass should be created as far as possible, and the air humidity should be higher in orchid cultivation places. it's best to transform it into a closed one. Because most of the resale grass grows in the high temperature and humidity environment of the greenhouse, the environment is too different, and the seedlings will often fall down because of "soil and water" after introduction. I raise orchids on the fifth floor south to the balcony. In order to increase humidity, there are boards underneath, agricultural films are laid on the boards, and carpets are laid on the agricultural films; in order to make full use of the space, I use double-layer orchids, with an orchid basin above and stainless steel water trays below; plus the outdoor camphor trees are luxuriant, and the effect is not bad. The second is to choose granular plant material. I use the mixture of orchid cornerstone, ceramsite, immortal soil, decayed bark, Yunnan chestnut leaves, sheep dung eggs and so on, which are sterilized by the sun and screened again. Third, after the introduction seedling is brought, it is generally necessary to use thiophanate or carbendazim plus virus gram disinfection, whether it is resale grass or not, it will be more at ease after treatment. Fourth, it is not suitable to split plants in the first year after resale grass is introduced, no matter how many original seedlings there are. My feeling is that the connection between the seedlings is not as good as the original species, which will be separated by gently mixing. It is easy to survive if multiple seedlings are put into the pot. If it is a single (single) seedling, it is also suitable to be cultivated in the same basin of strong seedlings, with the help of strong seedlings produced by the strong orchid growth effect is very significant. Fifth, it is irrigated with inflatable and oxygenated water. This method is called "returning grass and fertilizer with inflatable water" in Jingweidong, Henan Province (Konggu Youlan). See "tips and tricks for raising orchids". In the book "Chinese Orchid" by Ding Yongkang, it is called "aerobic water". A few years ago, I spent 120 yuan from Laojie to buy a small ACO series electromagnetic air pump (made in Zhejiang). Every time I filled the tap water in advance, put some edible white vinegar in the water, and then used it to inflate and increase oxygen for more than an hour, and then watered the orchids, the effect was very good. Sixth, be diligent in management and take a closer look at the situation. If you can determine that it is resale grass, it is best to put it together separately for observation and management. It is best to visit the Orchid Garden every morning and evening so that you can find problems and deal with them in time. Generally speaking, it is not easy to find old seedlings with cryptococcal virus before cultivation, but the symptoms of new seedlings are particularly obvious when new buds grow. Once found, there is no need to panic, but take it out, the first thing to think of is to separate it.

At present, resale grass has blossomed everywhere in China, in fact, it has been recognized and accepted by the majority of orchid friends, and everyone has explored their own cultivation techniques. When I write this article, I seem to play a trick, hoping to play a role in throwing bricks and attracting jade. In fact, not all resale grass is difficult to grow, it can be divided into three categories, one is greenhouse grass, the second is tissue culture seedlings, and the third is natural seedlings. The first two are difficult to domesticate, but the latter is easy to cultivate under natural conditions. For example, Taiwan's treasure island is located in the tropics. With the help of the unique natural environment, orchids grow every day 365 days a year, which naturally propagates much faster. As long as you study and explore, it is not difficult to grow it. As long as the resale grass grows for a few years and adapts to your environment, it will become a local grass. I will publish orchid knowledge and pictures every day, take you in-depth understanding of orchids, teach you to easily raise orchids, you can always ask me or leave a message below if you don't understand orchids. If my knowledge brings you help, I hope you can help me or forward it to help more people!
