The lunar banquet, also known as the cliff queen, is a lithophyte and succulent plant belonging to the genus Caulownia of Gesneriaceae. With lower tuber, leaves covered with dense, velvety white tomentose; born at the top of branches, several flowers open in clusters, the kaleidoscope is slender, 3 to 4 cm long, ca. 2 cm in diameter, petal apex slightly curved, orange-red or scarlet, white tomentose, blooming from spring to early summer, blooming from April to May. It is pollinated by hummingbirds in the wild. Moon banquet shape is beautiful and strange, suitable for planting with well-drained media, can be decorated with bright windowsill, balcony and indoor several, table eucalyptus and other places.

Morphological features:

The plant has globular or sweet potato fleshy stem (commonly known as "tuber root"), with yellowish brown epidermis, fibrous roots, green branches clustered at the top, 20-30cm high, and dense short white hairs on the surface. Leaves born on the upper part of branches, elliptic or long-elliptic, alternate, entire, apex pointed, green, leaves 8 to 12 cm long and 4 to 6 cm wide, densely thick white tomentose and glossy. Peanuts bloom in clusters at the top of the branches, the kaleidoscope is thin, 3 to 4 cm long, about 2 cm in diameter, the petal apex is slightly curved, orange or scarlet, covered with white tomentose, blooming from late spring to early autumn, and blossoms most from April to May.

Growth environment:

Spring and autumn is the peak growth period, which blossoms in April and May and begins to dormancy after December. It can withstand the low temperature of 5 ℃ and has full dormancy, which is beneficial to flowering and seed reproduction in the coming spring. The seed has a short life span and is sown on the mixed medium of rotten leaf soil and sand sterilized at high temperature. Germinate at about 20 degrees Celsius for 1-2 weeks, keep moist after germination, and transplant 5-6 true leaves. It is not easy for cutting plants to grow corms.
