The problem of foreign fishermen in Taiwan fishing boats is complicated, and the problems of abuse of fishermen and excessive deduction of wages have been repeatedly exposed. Greenpeace today (24) released the investigation report on Taiwan's offshore fishing industry, which directly pointed out that the illegal trafficking in the international fishing industry operated by Taiwanese had exposed fishermen to threats of starvation, abuse and death. Five shareholders and directors were sued and sentenced to ten years' imprisonment by the Cambodian government in 2014. Instead of serving a prison sentence, they fled back to Taiwan, and two of them, Lu Tiande and Chen Chunmu, continued to hire foreign fishermen abroad on the whitelist of excellent intermediaries published by the Fisheries Department.

News background: the problem of abuse of fishermen has been repeatedly exposed in Taiwan. one of the cases is that on August 25, 2015, the body of Indonesian fisherman Supriyanto was sent back to the port of Taiwan. The Pingtung District Prosecutor's Office signed the case with "septicemia death" administration, but there were many wounds on the body, suspected of long-term abuse, and the case is still under investigation by the Pingtung District Prosecutor's Office. The fisherman on board took pictures of Supriyanto before he was alive.
