My cultivation technique of potted Bella ball orchid

During the May Day holiday this year, Bella ball orchid opened as scheduled. My pot of Bella ball orchid has been planted for 4 years. From the first two branch cuttings, the new branches have increased year by year, and now they have grown into plants with a length of 50 cm to 60 cm. Usually, when it is not blooming, it is like a green waterfall. Recall that every flowering period in the past few years, watching the growing bud turn yellow and fall, not to mention how depressed, later learned that the Bella ball orchid's bud is easy to disappear due to lack of water, and pay attention to keeping the soil and plants moist during the flowering period. The flowers have bloomed continuously since last year, and in May this year, more than 20 flower balls have been successfully bloomed, and it is estimated that more than ten buds have disappeared. "Love every day" is really not a false name.

Now this pot of Bella ball orchid has adapted to my small environment, even if there is still the phenomenon of flower bracts yellow and falling (because the inflorescence of Bella ball orchid is easy to turn yellow and fall, and is laughed by flower friends as yellow ball orchid, drop ball orchid), but on the whole, it is quite satisfied that it has opened more than it has fallen. Generally speaking, Bella ball orchid is particularly easy to disappear when the bud is small, and it is not easy to disappear when the bud is relatively large, so pay special attention to whether the period of time when the bud has just grown is a bit like "protecting the fetus".

After a period of growth, Bella ball orchid finally opened smoothly, a single inflorescence blooming for about two weeks. When the bud of Bella ball orchid is not open, it looks like a five-pointed star, and when it is half-opened, it looks like a bear cake. when it is fully open, it has a red heart, like a delicate pastry, and it is a sweet-scented dessert.

Bella ball orchid opening process

It has always been very fond of all kinds of ball orchids, and unlike other ball orchids that have been planted, the inflorescence of Bella ball orchids is not spherical, but umbrella-shaped, so the hanging inflorescences are more like exquisite umbrellas, small flower umbrellas falling in the forest, and chinchillas are more like anime scenes.

Compared with other orchids which easily bloom dozens of florets, Bella Magnolia has only 7-9 florets per inflorescence, coupled with the characteristics of love buds, the number of flowers is often uneven, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 all together.

It was sunny in the morning after the heavy rain, and the Bella forest was still a little fresh after the rain. Although Bella ball orchid is not suitable for flower arrangement, it is very suitable for flower creation. Pick a few Bella umbrellas and soak them in the cup, enjoying the visual pleasure brought by Bella's small forest, and looking forward to the next Bella ball orchid blooming season.

When you see this, you must also want to plant such a delicate and lovely Bella ball orchid. Here are the main points of planting Bella ball orchid:

Reproduction: Bella ball orchid is generally propagated by cuttings, cutting some healthy branches in spring and autumn, the branches do not need to be too long, remove the leaves to be inserted into the plant material, and insert directly into the plant material, the cutting plant material can be prepared with bark, blue stone and perlite at the proportion of 3:1:1, such plant material is mainly drained and breathable, and is not easy to rot. Ball orchid basin should be small rather than large, cuttings can use a small basin with a diameter of 5 to 10 centimeters. If the air is dry in the place, you can put the small pot of cuttings into the moisturizing box, then put it in a cool place, spray properly, and water the plant when it is dry. Bella ball orchid can be inserted in water in addition to soil, and the branches can be inserted in water to wait for them to take root before being transplanted into the soil. This method is also suitable for some other kinds of ball orchids.

Planting: Bella ball orchid likes loose, drained and breathable soil, rich in organic matter, and cuttings can be planted with a mixture of peat soil, bark and perlite. Because I was too lazy to change the basin, I directly planted it with a 10 cm diameter basin + peat soil mixed with perlite cuttings. Peat soil contains organic matter, strong fertilizer and water retention, good hydrophobicity of perlite, no nutrients, low fertilizer and water retention. The branches of Bella ball orchid droop naturally and do not need to climb. The plants can be planted in hanging pots or placed on flower racks to let the plants hang naturally. When the plant is larger, it can be planted in a pot with a diameter of 10 cm to 18 cm. My pot Bella is planted in a pot with a diameter of 18 cm.
