Many flower friends know that adding some coal cake cinder to the soil is helpful to improve the soil quality, but many flower friends do not know much about the characteristics of coal cinder. They have seen many flower friends say that they have crushed the coal cake directly into the soil, which is not only of little help to improve the soil quality. and it destroys the soil. But on the Internet, no flower friend came out to explain, they all saw that someone had made a mistake, and then Zhuge Liang did something. So today I'm going to talk in detail about the use of coal cakes in flower cultivation, as well as the principles and matters needing attention.

First of all, the source, where to get cinder, if the home does not burn coal cake stove, generally breakfast stalls, selling chicken and duck stalls, snack bars (Lanzhou ramen) and other places can be obtained. It is best to choose those well-burnt cinders, which are a little reddish and rough in the middle from the outside, and those unburnt coal cakes are black in some places after they are opened, so they are not suitable for use.

Cinder mixed with the soil plays the role of dispersing the soil, that is, it is not easy for the soil to stick together. Keep the soil loose all the time. This can improve the water permeability and air permeability of soil. When this physical property of the soil is improved, the root system of the plant will be developed, and the flowers will naturally grow well. The soil mixed with cinder will not shrink and detach from the edge of the basin when it is dry, and it is easy to water through even after drying. The general mixing ratio of soil and soil must reach (1 part of soil: 1 part of coal ash-2 parts of soil: 1 part of coal ash) to have an effect.

Many flower friends say that the cinder is alkaline and is not suitable for acid-loving flowers, but my test found that the cinder solution is neutral. So I think acid-loving flowers can also be used (if what I say is wrong, please correct experts). In addition, cinder is very high in sulfur and can not be used in plants that are sensitive to sulfur, such as crab claw orchid.

Let's talk about how to use cinder. Break the cinder first. Step on it with your foot or smash it with something at will. It is best to break into particles the size of lotus seed (so that you can keep as many particles of available size as possible). If you break it into powder, it will be a waste.

Then use a coarse screen to remove too large particles, the size of the mesh (mesh) depends on how many cinder particles you need, according to your own needs to choose. Generally, large particles are used in large basins and small particles are used in small basins. Loose soil with large particles, sticky soil with small particles.

Do not throw away these large particles that have been sifted out, they can be re-broken and screened again.

It is inconvenient for these filtered coarse particles to be crushed with their feet. They can be rolled out with iron bars and filtered again.

The cinder obtained after the first screening needs to be screened again with a fine screen, this time with ultra-fine particles, which do not help to improve the quality of the soil, but will make the soil sticky. The size of the screen mesh this time depends on the minimum diameter of the cinder you need.

In the end, the cinder particles with moderate size are obtained.

These are useless things and should be discarded. It is too fine and too thick to break, and many of these coarse cinders are pebbles, so they cannot be broken. Large particles are reluctant to throw away, they can hit the face or be at the bottom.

Then soak in water for a day, in order to remove the heat (water absorption) and wash away some of the bad chemicals, while the more easily crushed particles will also melt in the water, so that the rest are strong and durable particles.

After soaking for a day, filter again with a fine sieve, so that the remaining cinder particles are both strong and clean. Those particles that are easily dispersed by water bubbles have been eliminated this time. The remaining particles can keep their physical properties unchanged in the soil for a long time.

Finally, put the cinder in a large flowerpot, where the excess water will flow away from the bottom of the pot and become drier and can be used a day later.

Of course, this process is more tedious and dusty! Suitable for people who like to toss about, if you don't like it, please ignore it.
