Propagation and Pest Control and cultivation techniques of Tripterygium wilfordii

Mandevilla laxa, also known as red crepe vine, double gland vine, double Xi vine, etc., belongs to Apocynaceae and belongs to tropical evergreen vine ornamental plant, native to Central and South America (Brazil). The florescence is mainly for summer and autumn, with large flowers, shaped like a small windmill and giving off a fragrance in the sun. The winding stems of the vine are soft and flexible, climbing straight up with the help of spinous stipules in the axils of the leaves. Fragrant rattan flowers, beautiful plant type, known as the "tropical vine queen".

I. cultivation and management

The fragrant vine prefers a warm, humid and sunny environment, and blossoms poorly when the light is insufficient. The suitable temperature for growth is 20-28 ℃, and the room temperature in winter should not be lower than 10 ℃. It has strong adaptability to soil, but the acid sandy loam with rich humus and good drainage is the best. Underground has hypertrophic storage roots, strong drought resistance, at the same time, the growing season should often give foliar spray water, but the substrate should not be too wet, otherwise it will easily lead to the lower leaves withered and fallen. Pruning and shaping should be carried out in time after flowering, in which the 2012-year-old plants should be lightly pruned and the old perennial plants should be strongly pruned to promote the germination of strong new branches. During the overwintering period, attention should be paid to reducing watering, stopping fertilization, and cutting off withered branches and leaves in time.

II. Reproduction

The cuttage method is mainly used to propagate. The semi-lignified sturdy branches are cut in spring and summer and cut in two segments. After the cuttings take root, they can be used in about 3 months under normal fertilizer and water management conditions. The propagation of striping at high altitude is more than that in spring. The reproduction rate of the above two methods is not high, which can no longer meet the demand of the market for seedlings, so now we are trying to achieve the goal of rapid propagation by tissue culture.

III. Pest control

The main diseases and insect pests are leaf spot, cotton aphid, etc., which occur more than in summer and autumn, mainly harming leaves and sometimes tender stems. Therefore, in the process of maintenance, the growth status of plants and the occurrence of diseases and insect pests should be checked at any time, and the diseased leaves of plants and fallen leaves on the ground should be removed in time to reduce the source of infection. When the disease is serious, 50% carbendazim 500 times solution can be sprayed to control aphids, while omethoate 1000-1500 times solution has a significant control effect on aphids.
