Experimental study on Cuttage Propagation of Silver Magpie
1 materials and methods
The tested materials are the seeds of silver magpie trees collected in Wufeng Houhe Nature Reserve, which are sown in March of the next year, grow seedlings, and then propagate by cutting with twigs.
2 results and analysis
2.1 seed propagation
Put the harvested silver magpie seeds on the plate, accumulate wet sand for about 2 months, and water and moisturize regularly. Then evenly sowed into the electronic leaf gap spray all-light cutting pool, the cutting pool substrate: the upper layer is soil about 10 cm, the lower layer is yellow sand [1].
The silver magpie seeds sown in the cutting pond began to emerge after about 25 days, and the strong seedling period was about 2 months. More than 300 silver magpie seedlings were moved into the nursery in the middle of June. Because the silver magpie seedlings are more shady in the young stage, but not resistant to high temperature and drought, it is necessary to build a shade shed. A few days before transplanting, 1 ∶ 3000 enemy was sprayed to kill to prevent diseases and insect pests. A year later, more than 100 plants survived and grew well. The highest seedling was 2 m, and the survival rate was about 40%.
2.2 Cuttage propagation
The young shoots with strong growth, full development, no diseases and insect pests, strong regeneration ability and germinated in the same year were selected to propagate in the cutting pond, and the cutting substrate was mainly vermiculite or perlite. Before cutting, turn the cutting pond deeply, disinfect it with 0.3%-0.5% potassium permanganate solution, flatten the substrate, cut the cuttings 12-15 cm long, adopt the diameter cutting method, and do as the cuttings are collected and treated. Three different hormones, NAA, 911 rooting hormone and ABT rooting powder, were selected to soak for 0.5 h, and then cuttings were cutting. the rooting results were shown in Table 1.

It can be seen from the above table that the rooting effect of NAA is the best, followed by ABT rooting powder and 911 rooting element, and in terms of concentration, the effect of 500 mg/L is the best, followed by 1000,100 mg/L. From an economic point of view, due to the high price of NAA, there is little difference in the rooting effect between ABT rooting powder and 911 rooting element, so 911 rooting element should be selected when cutting rooting, which can not only effectively expand the propagation coefficient, but also reduce the production cost, and has practical value. The rooting effect of high concentration of hormone was better than that of low concentration. As far as hormone was concerned, the induction effect of NAA was the best, and the effect of ABT rooting powder was similar to that of 911 rooting element. In this experiment, only the soaking method was used, and the effect of hormone dipping on cuttings needs to be further studied.
3 discussion
The main results are as follows: (1) due to the scattered distribution of silver magpie trees, it is not easy to bear fruit and the ability of natural regeneration is weak, so it is difficult to collect seeds. Seed propagation is to sow the seeds in the cutting pond or nursery through certain treatment. When the seeds are propagated successfully, the propagation coefficient must be expanded by cutting propagation. The results showed that the rooting rate of cuttings was the highest when the concentration was 500 mg/L, and there was little difference in the rooting effect of various hormones, so 911 rooting element should be selected from the economic point of view.
(2) when the silver magpie tree is not treated with hormone, the rooting rate of cutting is low, so it is necessary to use hormone treatment in cutting propagation. Generally speaking, cutting propagation can be carried out in both spring and autumn, this time only the spring experiment was carried out, and the effect of autumn needs to be further studied.
