I have a basin of pink angel eyes, which is beautiful and pleasing to the eye when it blossoms. The way she blossoms makes me feel the beauty of life. Relatives and friends also like it after reading it, and have cut some branches from me. This fall, I decided to practice my hands and try cutting angels myself. To tell you the truth, after planting flowers for several years, I have never tried cutting before, even the most common flowers and plants. Later I learned that Angel's Eye is one of the geraniums that is difficult to take root. The following is a summary of my cutting experience:

1. Cutting season: autumn cutting is the best, and the temperature is between 13 and 25 degrees. In autumn, you can enjoy the flowers in Red May next year. Cuttings can also be cut in winter, but it takes root slowly in cold weather.

2. Cutting substrate: I choose imported peat and perlite, perlite can be put up to 40%, and some people use pure perlite to cut.

3. The container used: I use a disposable clear water cup with low price and good quality. Note: there are no holes in the bottom. The advantage of using a water cup is that if you insert a cup with one branch, there will be no cross-infection. If it takes root, it can be observed. By the time you see the root that extends to the wall of the cup, there are already many roots inside, indicating that it must have survived. Transplant time, feel free, don't be rigid. When transplanting, directly cut off the water cup, take all the matrix to the flowerpot, direct planting, do not hurt the root, and convenient.

4. Cuttings selection: generally choose the top twigs of the current year, cut the branches into 5 or 6 cm cuttings with sterilized knives or scissors, and cut off a few leaves at the bottom. However, in the author's experiment, the middle strong branch without terminal bud took root in 15-20 days, while the top shoot took more than a month to take root. This also shows that the choice of cuttings, the first choice of strong branches of the current year.

5. I would like to say a few more words about how many leaves are left on the cuttings, because some flower friends think that cuttings should leave fewer leaves and only two or three leaves. I think this is open to question. In my opinion, cutting is essentially a process of material production and material transformation. In other words, roots cannot grow without leaves, which produce substances through photosynthesis, which flow and convert below to form roots. Therefore, in the case of ensuring an adequate supply of water, the leaves can stay a little more, so that they can take root more quickly. The author's experiment has proved this point. (if it is not water insertion, it is reasonable to leave fewer leaves.)

6, incision treatment: the cut of the cutter had better be close to the node, cut obliquely with a sharp knife, disinfect it with potassium permanganate solution, and then touch the rooting powder.

7, how much water: because I borrowed from the sand water insertion method, improved into my own peat water insertion method, in fact, my bed, that is, peat, does not have so much water. The potassium permanganate solution I used was only slightly filled with peat. Because if there is too much water, the plug will not stand, which is determined by the different characteristics of peat and sand.

8. About sunshine: what I do is to put the cuttings in a cool place for three days after cutting. Three days later, let them see the sun directly. The sun is the best antiseptic, and the exposure of the sun is also conducive to rooting.

9, on ventilation: do not cover the cuttings, maintain good ventilation, which we have reached a consensus.

The above points are the author's experience summary of cutting Angel's Eye, shared, only for beginners' reference. As the author's level is limited, if there is anything wrong, experts are also welcome to communicate and criticize and correct. Thank you!
