As a faithful "meat slave", every step and every part of raising meat should be thought over and over again, lest the meat should not grow well, rotting roots, rotten leaves, apprentices, and baldness. In the choice of paving stone is no exception, often received messages or messages from meat friends, which paving stone should be chosen in the end? So, which one should I choose?

-advantages of paving stones-

What are the benefits of using paving stones?

1. Beautiful, take photos to make you look high.

2. Prevent soil spatter during watering and strong wind

3. It can prevent the surface soil from caking and ensure the soil permeability.

4. It can prevent the growth of eggs to a certain extent.

So the paving stone is quite important.

-Classification of paving stones-

Paving stones are roughly divided into three types: soft pavement, hard pavement and sandy pavement.

1. Soft pavement: can be crushed, such as red jade soil, deer marsh soil, Maifan stone and so on.

Suitable for: love gregarious, rosette-shaped, because the texture is soft, do not need to worry about the meat in the growth process will be due to contact with the pavement and damage to the leaves.

2. Hard pavement: volcanic rock, green zeolite, etc., with hard texture.

Suitable for: ready to make old pile meat, this kind of stone, especially green zeolite, has an advantage-snails can not climb up, soft meat will be cut by green zeolite. If any meat is eaten by a snail, try replacing the shop with green zeolite.

3, sandy pavement: as the name implies, it is a kind of sand (river sand, sea sand). Raising meat at home is not recommended, and it will live with the granular soil below, which will only add to the trouble when watering.

Let's take a look at the advantages and disadvantages of different pavement particles.

Soft paving stone

Planting stone: paving stone, mixed granular soil

Advantages: a kind of volcanic stone, PH is acidic, light weight, good drainage, moisture retention, air permeability, can prevent the growth of bacteria and rotting roots. For many plants whose roots are afraid of heat, covering the roots can safely spend the summer.

Disadvantages: lack of fertility.

Use: can be used for paving, can also be used alone, such as mixed with other particles, can play a better effect.

More orchids are used in planting.

Diatomite: paving stone, mixed granular soil

Advantages: delicate, loose, light, porous, water absorbent, strong permeability, contains diatoms can physically kill insects.

Disadvantages: lack of fertility.

Use: can be used for paving or mixed with other particles

Maifan stone: paving stone, mixed granular soil

Advantages: volcanic rocks, containing a variety of minerals and trace elements, high hardness, strong permeability and drainage. It can stabilize, improve and balance the physical mechanism of soil, and can absorb harmful substances and bacteria.

Disadvantages: have shortcomings? Too cheap?

Use: can be used for paving, can also be mixed with other granular plants.

Now the mainstream paving stone-Maifan Stone (favorite of Korean greenhouse)

Deer marsh soil: paving stone, mixed granular soil

Advantages: the volcanic area produced in Kumuma area, Japan, is generated by the lower volcanic soil, has strong air permeability and water permeability, and PH is slightly acidic, which can prevent bacterial growth and rotting roots, and is rich in various minerals.

Disadvantages: the texture is soft and easy to crush, so it is not suitable for cutting and rooting.

Use: can be used for pavement, can also be mixed with other fine particles.

Red jade soil: pavement, mixed soil

Advantages: good water retention and permeability, rich in minerals, light and cheap.

Disadvantages: easy to crush

Use: can be used for pavement, can also be mixed with other particles.

Tung raw sand: paving stone, mixed granular soil

Advantages: volcanic sand, contains a lot of iron oxide, hard texture, not easy to crush, good permeability and drainage, can prevent the growth of bacteria and rotting roots, rich in various minerals.

Cons: not too cheap.

Use: can be used for paving, can also be mixed with other granular plants.

Light stone: bottom stone, mixed granular soil

Advantages: loose soil, strong water retention, bacteriostasis, small temperature change, can promote root growth.

Disadvantages: no fertility, easy pulverization and light weight after a long time.

Use: need to be mixed with other granular media, not recommended as paving stone, watering will float.

Light stone (do more foundation, picture from the network)

Hard paving stone

Iridescent stone: paving stone, mixed granular soil

Advantages: light (floating) stone, zeolite (green zeolite), volcanic rock and other particles mixed together, maintaining pH value, good drainage and air permeability.

Disadvantages: it is the most expensive.

Use: can be used for pavement, can also be mixed with other particle planting.

In fact, this basin shop is a rainbow stone, not an iridescent stone (will eventually explain the difference)

Green zeolite: paving stone, paving stone, mixed granular soil

Advantages: a kind of ore and soil improver, which can protect fertilizer, water and prevent diseases and insect pests, has a certain purification function, and can absorb harmful substances in the soil.

Disadvantages: twelve rolls of meat such as Yulu are not suitable. The stone is too hard for fear of scratching the leaves and roots of the meat.

Use: can be used for pavement and bottom drainage medium, can also be mixed with other particles

Green zeolite is really good-looking (picture from Taobao)

Volcanic rocks: paving stone, mixed granular soil

Advantages: porous stone formed by direct solidification of magma after volcanic eruption. Light weight, loose and porous, good air permeability, rich in minerals and other trace elements.

Disadvantages: relatively hard, some succulent do not apply.

Use: can be used for pavement, can also be mixed with other particles.

A fairly good-looking volcanic rock pavement

Small ceramsite: non-porous flower bottom, mixed soil

Advantages: ceramic particles calcined at high temperature have the advantages of light weight, large particle size, high internal porosity, good drainage and air permeability, and are mostly used in the bottom drainage medium of succulent plants.

Disadvantages: no fertility, not conducive to root.

Use: mainly used for succulent plant bottom drainage medium, can also be mixed with other fine particles.

It is still the favorite of Lanke's shop.

Sandy pavement

River sand: paving stone, mixed granular soil

Advantages: high water-holding capacity, beautiful color.

Disadvantages: not suitable for cutting, not fertile (it is said to be not very breathable).

Use: can be used for pavement, can also be mixed with other particles.

In my own experience, I prefer to use Maifan stone and red jade clay (size is not recommended to use 3-6mm, 1-3mm is better, very delicate, quite cheap), and fake iridescent stone (called rainbow stone, mainly composed of volcanic rock, green zeolite, river sand, light stone, etc.) has a better paving effect than really.

And the real body-the full name of iridescent stone German Leexiu rainbow stone (mainly composed of zeolite, light stone, volcanic rock, etc.) is not small, compared with fake iridescent stone, it is not suitable for paving.

PS: it is more economical to buy a whole package or half a package of paving stone.
