The mortality rate of Meretrix Meretrix has soared in recent years. Last year, it was even reported that the death rate of Meretrix Linnaeus was 90%. The fishermen lost all their money and sighed that it was more and more difficult to raise clams. The outside world points to environmental changes, such as abnormal climate, water pollution, vibrio proliferation and so on. Improper farming methods make things even worse, including excessive culture density and elongation during the growing period, which increases the risk; or too much feed, resulting in the proliferation of algae in the pond and too much organic matter in the sediment, resulting in the death of Meretrix Meretrix.
The Meretrix Meretrix industry is facing an autumn of survival. The Water Test Institute has conducted separate experiments with three research units, Chiayi University and Ocean University, hoping to find out the most appropriate scientific breeding model, but because the practice is different from the traditional one, the cost-effectiveness is still being evaluated. The "upstream and downstream" asked experts to elaborate on the three experimental methods, and visited Yunlin to interview demonstration farmers and traditional farmers to dissect the cause of death of Meretrix Meretrix and its possible solution.

(note) chlorine dioxide (ClO2) is a yellowish green gas at room temperature. it is a strong oxidant, which is often used for water disinfection, sterilization, deodorization and reducing organic matter in water. For the advantages and disadvantages of chlorine dioxide, see the Fisheries Q & An of the Water Test Institute.
