Last time, I had a balcony and two large floating windows, of which the balcony was completely closed to the south and connected to the house, which meant that in haze-prone Beijing, I could hardly open the window. If you are like me, congratulations, we have a natural plant oven! No matter in winter or summer, the temperature of the balcony is kept above 25 degrees, and the temperature can reach about 35 degrees at noon in summer. Such a terrible environment, I still planted some plants, these plants can also grow well and produce amazing flowers! The best part is that they don't need to be taken care of.

First send a hot and dry corner of the balcony, the plants are mainly on the wall partition.

Hanging wall garden

As you can see from the picture above, there are not many flowering plants here, but they look good. This is the first magic weapon of dry and hot balcony: colorful leaf plants.

Because of the harsh environment of the dry and hot balcony (hot, unventilated, drought caused by lazy people not watering), the general grass flowers are difficult to survive, so I choose to make a fuss on the leaves. Let the color also become vivid. Because the wall-hanging garden is a pure white frame, it will look much better with a refreshing theme. Choose some white, blue, wood or tin decorative pots or some gadgets to enrich the space color and content.

In the beginning, the hanging wall garden was mainly green, decorated with white birdcages, red pottery pots to grow succulent plants, and a little bird furnishings that were quite clean.

The original hanging wall garden

When Zhu Dinghong blossoms, it is natural to move to the growth area to grow, a little change the layout, there will be a sense of freshness. A large iron birdcage was changed here to grow hanging plants, which happened to be winter at that time, so it was embellished with cyclamen. The rest of the oil-dotted wood, oil-dotted lilies, touch incense and so on are the original.

A little change of decorations and plants is like having a brand new wall-hanging garden.

Knock on the blackboard, colorful leaf plants are the magic weapon of the dry and hot balcony. Look at this silver bed, it is outstanding even if there are no flowers.

These three are the common pepper grass in the flower market, very short and cute, the key is to have color.

Even the green pineapple has to choose this kind of white spot to make the color jump.

? The first recommendation is the following picture of the plant with teeth and claws-thousand-year-old wood. Thousand-year-old wood is a plant of the tequila family, and it is precisely the hot and dry environment that I like best. The small one I bought is only 3 yuan a pot (2 in all). The original basin is put in a decorative basin and a layer of peat + perlite mixed soil is placed at the bottom, so that its roots can grow through the bottom of the basin. The thousand-year-old wood grows rapidly in places with plenty of light and high temperature, and the leaves can keep colorful colors all the time. Now, the trunk of mine has grown 10 centimeters high, and I may have to move it out in half a year as a potted plant.

The leaves of the thousand-year-old wood can always show colorful colors in an environment with sufficient sunshine and high temperature.

Then I'm going to plant it in this direction. It grows so fast that I can plant a tree in my lifetime.

? The second thing to recommend is my favorite epiphyllum. Epiphyllum is a plant of the cactus family, so it is naturally used to a hot and dry environment. Every summer, sunny epiphyllum will offer you a lot of fairy flowers in the evening, along with a plate of soup the next day, how cost-effective!

Big white and beautiful flowers

It's really exciting when several epiphyllum flowers bloom.

Pick a handful of epiphyllum and make a soup of epiphyllum the next day. It's nutritious and delicious.

But as a responsible person, I want to tell you that epiphyllum grows very huge and needs to take up a lot of space. In a city with an inch of land and gold, it is obviously extravagant to plant such a behemoth, not to mention that if you don't fertilize, you can't see the flowers at all. Don't worry, I have the perfect substitute--? Epiphyllum paniculata?

Epiphyllum is very small, only the size of a normal green plant, but the growth rate is amazing. I insert four leaves and begin to open a pile of flowers in less than a year. The flowers are small but delicate and fragrant.

The fine leaf epiphyllum of cuttings grows rapidly.

Very immortal

The little fairy is true.

It blossoms during the day. Look, it can open so much (net map)

? The third thing to recommend is oil dotted wood. The yellowish green plant in the rightmost corner of the picture below is it! I don't remember how many years this pot of oil dotted wood has lived in my house. I hardly took care of it last summer. I lost all my leaves. I thought of watering it in winter, and now it's full of water. It is also a plant of the tequila family, so it also likes the environment of high temperature and long sunshine. However, it is also very shady, and it is also right if there are friends who can't see the sun at home.

On the balcony hanging on the wall at the beginning of spring, the report of spring with flowering pots is taken as the focus, and the yellowish green on the far right is dotted wood.

I don't know how long I bought it, but this is still a picture taken by an old camera.

It also looks good in a single basin.

It also looks good to be a supporting role in a basin.

Oily wood can also grow big. This is its flower.

? Then Amway, a hanging plant, silk Reed, is also a cactus plant, super drought and heat resistance. Because it is a wall-hanging garden, it would be nice to put some plants that can grow down properly. I planted ivy (not very heat-resistant, but now I put it under the figs and grow into one piece. But when hanging on the wall, it is easy to roll leaves and grow red spiders), Buddha beads (this is good, but watched for a long time aesthetic fatigue), double butterflies (very not heat-resistant, pawn) and this silk Reed. The small pot hangs very long very quickly, does not need to worry about, grows very well, accidentally will also blossom.

Ivy, it's beautiful, but I'm afraid it will grow into a red spider.

When I just bought it, the flower market sells large pots, which cost more than 200 and only 15 for small ones.

Soon grew into a green waterfall.

? Finally, I would like to recommend the grass balls that are succulent and seldom planted by many people. Needless to say, the benefits of succulent plants are full, don't worry about it, have different shapes and look good in pots. The disadvantage is that there is almost no discoloration in the closed balcony, and the growth is relatively weak, but no matter how weak it is to keep it in good condition. The cactus is not good-looking at ordinary times, but it is amazing when it blossoms and is worth planting.

Succulent plants are always cute.

It will stop growing if it is not watered.

Schick's grass ball "Lady Edward" is about to blossom, is it like holding out a small arm?

There are such huge flowers on the little arms!

Super gorgeous

In addition to the above plants, there are also some plants suitable for dry and hot balconies, but they need more care from us. For example, jasmine, jasmine is also very heat-resistant and drought-resistant, but jasmine needs to be watered in time and cannot be dried for too long, and it is better to set up a basin so as not to let the roots get too sunny. My jasmine is thus placed on a stool on the bottom floor, and it has been replanted this year. All kinds of bamboo taros are also heat-resistant and exercise-resistant, but they should be more ventilated, otherwise they are easy to grow red spiders. I used to assemble pots too densely, but later they were all taken apart, and now they are put in a slightly shady place and grow very well. Oncidium can blossom in heat resistance, but it needs to change the planting medium and water in time, which will rot the root if you are not careful. Geraniums, petunia, these flowering flowers can also be planted, but easy to grow insects, white lice scale insects, and so on, if you choose, we should pay attention to insect control, fertilization and so on.

Oncidium, which is also placed on a hot and dry balcony, can be reflowered year after year, but I don't understand it.

Jasmine, it's time to water it.

So, I think it's worth recommending. What really won't die is the above. I hope I can save you. Next time I will write about how hard it is to grow flowers at home.
